Does anyone know the interval for Wayspot and Powerspot to appear?

It’s been a while since I’ve been here and I’m already asking two questions. Is this too much? ㅎㅎ;;;

If you’re a Pokemon Go user, you can see that the Power Spots are created for the first time and Wayspots that don’t appear in duplicate within 17 cells appear as Power Spots.
(Of course, since it’s based on Google Maps, there are more cases where regular stores that may not exist appear as Power Spots.)

Originally, if there were two Wayspots in 17 cells, one of them couldn’t appear, so it was a meaningless spot.

Similarly, I know that a distance of 20m is needed for a duplicate spot to appear in IITC. Right??

But among the Wayspots that appear as duplicate spots in IITC…
In cases where there are many spots or gyms in parks and other places that are right next to each other, they appear as duplicate Wayspots in IITC, but it’s clear that they don’t appear as Power Spots. I think a certain distance applies to this as well. (Similarly, I wonder if the fact that power spots that appeared once continue to appear frequently is because users used them more. I think this is information that cannot be found here, though. Haha)

I’m curious about this part. Does anyone know about this gap?
(If there are candidates, I’m diligently making duplicate Wayspots, but among the duplicate spots, spots with a certain gap sometimes appear as power spots.. I’m curious because it seems that Wayspots that have been approved while keeping a 20m distance in places with many spots and gyms don’t appear!)

Oh, by the way, it’s been changed to Scopely and separated from Ingrace, but it’s still okay to use IITC as a reference, right? IITC was based on Ingrace…
The questions keep piling up.. I’m sorry ㅠㅠ

I’m always grateful to everyone who answers!

Iitc is ok but since it will not have anymore addition from wayfarer, and it will have its own submission from ingress. The map will become more inaccurate as more time goes.

Here are some things that the community has observed about Power Spots:

  • Only 2 active Power Spots seem to be allowed per L14 S2 cell
  • Power Spots do not appear within 22m of a stop/gym
  • Power Spots seem to be rotated every month

As for Intell/IITC, it’s no longer syncing with Wayfarer as of May 23rd, so it may not have the most reliable info anymore when it comes to PoGo. No new Wayspots that have been accepted since May 23rd 11am PDT have been added to Ingress, since Ingress was kept by the new Spatial and will have its own mapping system, Recon, which isn’t fully up and running yet. Submissions can be made in ingress again, but reviewing hasn’t started yet. More info can be found here:

No new Wayspots will be appearing in iitc. Ingress has had its last sync with Wayfarer. We can still use iitc for cells for the time being, but portals will diverge more and more from Wayfarer as time goes on.

My copy/paste reply about Powerspots:
Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. We explorers haven’t figured out the schedule for syncing in new Power Spots, but it is not on a daily basis at this time.

I hope something that can replace IITC comes out soon!
Actually, this program seems to have been created because of Ingress..ㅎㅎ

Really~ Thank you so much for the clear answer!!!
My curiosity has been completely resolved!

Thanks for the reply! It was helpful! cyndiepooh

Hello! I have another question about Power Spots!
You said the distance between Wayspots (stops/gyms) is 22m..
No matter how I look at it, I see Power Spots that don’t seem to be 22m(?).
When I click on them, they seem to be Power Spots that were automatically assigned by Google Maps..
Is it possible that duplicate Wayspots are applied with a distance of 22m, but automatically assigned Power Spots are not? (Is there a way to match 22m..?..)
If you know, please let me know!

As an aside, there are Wayspots that are just barely short of 22m..and have lost their chance to appear as Power Spots…
Isn’t it possible that you would listen to my request to move a little to appear? ㅎㅎ;;
(Actually, it seems like matching 22m would be more difficult..)

22m is not a hard rule in all places, but most places. There are still some that will appear within 22m of a stop/gym.

The full density/inclusion rules for Power Spots haven’t been fully figured out, and these are just what the community has observed, which I noted in my post. We have no idea if they will ever be confirmed, so right now, we can only rely on the community observations.

Is it possible to check how much actual distance?

You can get the coordinates and measure them on Google Maps. I do this often when I’m thinking or submitting a location edit but don’t know if it’s over 10m or not. There may be other ways, too, but most likely the coordinates are still needed.

As DTrain2002 said..
It may not be perfectly accurate, but if you measure the distance based on latitude and longitude, you should be able to get a similar distance.
But realistically, I think it’s hard to measure the exact distance.
