Hi, lately i’ve been finding a lot of nomination in my area (North East Italy, Slovenia and Croatia) with wayspot proposals in German. Yes there are flocks of german tourists in the area and during the summer there’s a massive amount of POI requests with German title and German description.
Since the languages should be Italian, Slovenian and Croatian, i’m baffled on what to do, should i report them? Or ust downvote them for bad description? Keep that in mind that the local communities propose many POIs in english since there are 4 countries in less than 100km. But seeing German descriptions in Dalmatia or Veneto makes me wonder.

I remember having a discussion similar to this in Wayfarer discord and it is generally acceptable for them to post wayspots in their language AS LONG as the title and description is accurate.
I would gladly accept those after translating and if they are eligble, because some people really took their time to:
- Go to pokemon go
- See a cool place, post a new wayspot
Like some people are really dedicated to posting Wayspot and make the location more lively for Nitanic/Scopely game.
I have some people posting good Wayspots in Chinese language on my country Vietnam, and I used to hate it, but now i come to a term that they spent time to post Wayspot on unpopular location and I should at least spend time translating and see if it is eligible. Title and description can be edited later.

There is no language requirement for Wayfarer. I would use Google Translate or your other favorite app to translate these to be sure they don’t say anything they shouldn’t. If the locals do not like the language used, they can submit an edit later.

That’s a tricky one. I understand your wish to have Wayspots in the local language. Niantic’s criteria do not warrant rejections on the grounds of language of text.

I want to be clear that I only answered about the language issue.
I can’t tell what this nomination is for and all I see is the top of a flag. Those are usually rejected as mass produced items, unless there is more significance in the rest of the nomination.

It’s a very long wharf deck in the sea, a very recent one. I think it should be eligible, but I skipped it
I’d encourage players to at least write in English, due to the political changes in the last 70 years in the area, it might come as extremely rude to some people (there’s a lot of drama still).
But if for wayfarer is ok, I’ll guess I’ll just upvote all of the title and description changes people do to their national language.
