I’m trying to nominate a historical tombstone / grave. I know it has to has historical ties and prove that it’s significant to the community’s history. I’ve got all that.
What would you title it though? “[Name] Tombstone”, “[Name] Grave”, or something different?
Hey & Hi @tacofetus !
Hard to know without seeing it.
What about “Important Historic xxxx Memorial” ?? Replace xxxx with the name or just go with Historic Memorial and put name, details etc in the description.
It can sometimes be tricky getting graves, associations with cemeteries etc approved.

For both of the ones I’ve had accepted, I simply titled them “{Name of person} ({year of birth} - {year of death})”, then used the description to summarise who they were and what they did, and the supporting info to provide further evidence of their significance.

I simply put [family name] Tomb, place name
That is how it was described on the historic listing, so just went with that.
The description gave more details drawn from the listing.

I’ve just had a title edit for a historic tomb accepted yesterday and I used the format Tomb of [Historic Person’s Name]. You could also try Memorial for [Name], Columbarium for [Name], or something similar, depending of course on what time of tomb/memorial object it is.
Yeah, I know it’ll be a long shot to get it even though it’s a perfect nomination for it. It’s old in a registered historic landmark cemetery. It’s one of the founding families of the city/county. I just needed some help with the title. It’s a great spot to explore history, but [Name] Tombstone just seems a little too crass for me.
Yeah, that might work. The problem is that it doesn’t have the dates on the tombstone. I guess it wasn’t that family’s style to put it on there because they’re all like that.
The description is where I would really go out though.
