When should abusive content be used?

In the PokéStop report in Pokémon GO, there is now an entry for “Abusive content” as well as “Not suitable for AR experiences.” When is “Abusive content” used? For example, mass-produced manhole covers used throughout municipalities in Japan are sometimes used as PokéStops. Is it now possible to report such Wayspots?

It’s been seen in the past where a description or title has been maliciously edited to slight or target an individual or certain group of people.

I would use that reason if I saw something like that.

The Rejection Criteria section in the Help Center lays out what is considered abusive, and it could be any part of the submission: title/description/photo/location/supporting info.

Manholes in the middle of a road would be considered unsafe, not necessarily abusive, if that’s where they are; there also isn’t any option for something that’s generic and mass-produced, but there is now a comment box.

I would read through the rejection criteria to know when this option could be used. I’m thinking we’ll eventually get more info about this soon, as it’s not an option in Ingress yet.

Thank you.
Up until now, the purpose of the report was only to remove Wayspot, but yes, this is only a report.
So now you can also report if a Wayspot image, title or description is defamatory or uses inappropriate words against the Wayspot subject itself or other game players.

If you do use this to report title/description/photo, you’ll want to use the comment box.

However, no one from Niantic has confirmed that this is what this reason is to be used for. It’s still labeled to be used for a Wayspot removal request, whereas help chat and the online web form for abuse are still available for reporting abusive titles/descriptions/photos.

I best quickly remove my mancover nominations quick… All I ever wanted was a home waypoint! (I say this in jest).
