Why do I need a placemaker for something that clearly is an amphitheater?

I’m having several issues with a recently built park and I’m starting to feel a little bit frustrated…

The park is still not visible in Google Maps, but it is visible in aerial photos and several 360 photos I have taken. THe thing is that I cannot use them to support my nominations since these are third party photos and if I post a URL reviewers do not check it…

Several of my nominations are getting rejected by the community even providing enough supporting information. After being rejected as “Mismatching Location” I have appealed them and until now they have been accepted. In my last appeal someone has decided that my nomination “needs a placemarker sign” to represent an amphitheater because it is an open space.

This is my nomination:

Title: Anfiteatro en Zamalanda

With this info I got it rejected as “Mismatching Location”, like all the nominations of this new park. Even a 360 photo where it can be seen clearly.

I appealed this nomination (I like having all my profile with accepted nominations) giving more detailed info of it and providing a URL to a 360 photo.

And the answer to the appeal was:

Thanks for the appeal, Explorer! We are unable to verify as it is an open area with no sign board. We would recommend to submit with the placemarker sign representing the Wayspot location/object which will increase the chances of this nomination getting approved. We also recommend that you review the Wayspot content guidelines: Content Guidelines — Wayfarer Help Center

I think the is no need for a placemarker, the structure clearly resembles an amphitheater and Zamalanda is the name of the park. I clearly stated in my appeal that the amphitheater points to open area where concerts or cultural activities are made. These are seats in the middle of that plaza.

Here you have some aerial photos of the place:

The following image is a demo image that the park used to promote the space:

You can also check this URL for more info Zamalanda El parque or the following map where you can see the plaza with the amphitheater symbol or use OpenStreetMap

Please consider overturning this appeal decision and accepting this nomination. This is clearly an amphitheater, there is no need for a placemarker.

I feel like all my job has been thrown to the bin… I have even used an appeal… and I think this should have been accepted. If an Ambassador finds this information useful I would like some from the Wayfarer Team to review it…

Thanks

Can you share full screenshot of your nomination? Including supporting information and location

Ok after a quick look into satelite. Where is the amphiteater? Is it new ? Satelite and street doesnt show anything like ur picture. I am not surprised that reviewer cant verify your nomination. U nd to bring evidence that your nomination is recently added

I did so in the appeal process. I took a 360 photo of the area. Check the URL of the appeal text https://maps.app.goo.gl/GGKfrUoCTEg9NJhQA

There are a lot of new 360 photos added to the map, most of the reviewers in Spain do not care of what you write. If they do not see it on satellite view, they reject it…

I am not surprised. But personally i am still struggling to find the exact location of your nomination. Maybe your nomination photo should show full circle of the amphitheater? And make 360 deg photo exactly where you put your nomination

There you have the amphitheater, I reupload your photo with an arrow pointing to it.

I have tried to do my best using two maps, google maps and openstreetmaps, lets see if this helps:

I’m trying to find OSMs satellite view, but unable to find it…

Edit: finally found it…

Hi @OhMaikGosh
I’ve had recently some luck with nominating new things by showing existing POIs in the photos background. With supporting description that it isn’t on streetview or satellit yet, but location can be confirmed by wayspot x on the photos.

But I also hope that your appeal decision will be revert. Good luck :four_leaf_clover:

I need the appeal decision to be reverted. It is imposible otherwise… And taking into account that each appeal takes 21 days of cooldown… I hope someone from the Staff reads this and takes action

You could resubmit? Or are you not any longer in that area?

I can resubmit. But I get it rejected all times… And I don’t like wasting appeals since these are too scarce…

I can try what you suggested, but there is no nearby POI that can help, the amphitheater is quite big and other POIs are far away…

Recognizable building?
Anything in the background which can confirm the location would help.

Sadly everything is new in that area, it used to be an industrial area. The only thing that is visible in current streetview is the bridge that crosses the river. You can check this 360 photo

I think that I have clearly demonstrated that it is in the correct location. But there is no room for all this in the nomination process…

To be honest, your current supporting photo isn’t helpful as it is nearly the same as the main image is.
The bridge is something really prominent, so I’d try to build up your submission with it in the background. Similiar to the advertise images.

Is there any planning documents about the park you could link to? Or mention the bing satelitte view?

The plans I have are those available in the park itself, the one I posted. There is no bing satellite view. I have been able to find it in here

The thing is that I had to do a close picture, because AI was always rejecting the nomination for being too much green… This is why I had to focus on the benches itself.

I think you need to really consider what Alice said about your second photo. When the person uses the exact same image for both photos and i can’t find independent proof through satellite or street view, i often mark it as location mismatch. In your original submission, you did not do anything to show the reviewer where this is located. I submit things in new areas all the time. You have to either wait for them to show up on local maps or give the reviewer irrefutable proof with your second photo.
