Why hasn’t my approved Pokestop showed up yet

I received an email for a Wayspot nomination that was approved on Friday (11/15/28). It says it could take up to 48 hours for my Pokestop to appear. It’s now Wednesday (11/20/28), and my Pokestop isn’t there yet. Why is it taking longer than normal?

hey there,

accepted wayspots first go into Niantics overal database, Lightship. Then, the games choose what to include and what to exclude from it. It can be that your newly accepted Wayspot has met the rules for the databse, but not for Pokemon GO.

The additional rule for Pokemon GO is, that it needs to be in a free S2 Level 17 cell, maybe you heard of that somewhere. There also have been days without the sync process in that game so might just take a little longer

If you want to give the name and the location of the Wayspot, someone could verify if this is the reason it has not appeared in Pokemon Go. But if you don’t want to reveal your location, that is fine, too.

I have seen reports that there was a sync for Pokemon Go today, so it should have appeared if eligible.

Giant Chess Set. Burbank, CA. These are the approximate coordinates. (34.1928073, -118.3462114)

Thats is the same cell as “Melting Pots” so it wont show up in PoGo.
Scratch that, same cell as Mutual and/or Climbing Cougar

I tried nominating mutual, but it got denied, unless someone beat me to it. It is not currently a Pokestop. It might be barely in the same cell as climbing cougars gym.
