I’ll be honest, I’m not surprised this was rejected. It appears to be stickers on a bus stop shelter.
I’m going to steal a line from @NianticAaron here: If you’ve got evidence that this is part of an official documented trail then I recommend that you use the appeal button on the nomination in your contributions page and provide that detail when you do appeal it. The team will take another look at it.

To be honest all hiking trails in this area looks this way. All are kind of stickers. And I also gave the two urls at my submission. It is the last lane on my first post. So I don’t know why the AI rejected this. Furthermore it is the first official hiking trail that got immediately rejected by the AI. That’s why i opened the thread.
It’s stickers on a bus shelter, so I’m fairly confident that’s what caught the AI’s attention. If they were on a pole on a forest, or along a path then it might of let them slide.
Also, I don’t think the AI can check the hyperlinks.
Ether way, I’d provide the links when you appeal it and hope the team see’s things your way.
Perhaps you are right and I don’t want to argue with you about that but I think it is the wrong behavior from the AI cause it it a viable wayspot from my point of view that should be at least checked by the community.
AI is just artificial intelligence…it’s not gonna get everything right all the time. I’m also of the opinion that the resurgence in the popularity of everything being ai doesn’t mean any of it is actual ai.
Anywho, if the ML model is simply looking at pictures and I were to do the same, without checking provided links, I definitely would be skeptical given the markers appear to be random stickers. But luckily I’m human (I think
) so the description definitely seems like good information and, had I seen it in review, would definitely make me want to see if I could verify the info and your links do that.
All that to say…definitely appeal it if you have one free.
So if this came on my review i would also dismiss it, since this is just a mass produced sign+not interesting bus stop. Common bus stops are already not eligible as far as i know. If the hiking path has a beginning sign, like a custom made wooden sign, that would be a different thing. Just sayi it does not look distinct, and the sticker could be easily duplicated/removed or faked.
On that note, i have submitted signs that met the criteria, were safe and were still rejected by the ai and after the appeal because the team thought it wasnt a big thing for the comunity.
