Can anyone help me understand why this is rejected? And what does Wayfarer criteria mean?
It is a newly build school in our city. Near a football club and a lot of people live near it and pass by it every day.

Never mind. I found the rule, but why do you make it possible to nominate middleschools, when your rules apparently says not to?
Welcome to the forum, and I hope we can help.
“Wayfarer criteria” is the reason that shows when Niantic’s ML (machine learning ai) model has rejected a nomination. Those emails will say “our team” instead of the community.
Thank you for a Quick response.
What do you mean by
If you mean the categories, those do not show eligibility. They are for tagging for the Lightship database, which can be used for other purposes than Niantic’s games.
I thought that is what you meant and think I explained that. It is tags for other uses of the Wayspots. I have even seen a video from a famous You-Tuber saying this was a list of eligible categories, and that is wrong. I am happy you came here and asked and found out now.
As @cyndiepooh mentioned the Categories don’t indicate that something is eligible. They are only there to add meta data to the accepted wayspots in the database this helps Niantic sell their map to other vendors.
As a side note,Ingress, the other game that allows nominations, does not have their players fill out the Categories.
Thanks again for your time and answers.
