Wrong spot

I proposed a pokéstop to Niantic and they accepted, but they have put the pokéstop in the wrong place, on the door next to the right one… what can I do?

Welcome to the forum!

You can use help chat to correct a Wayspot to its actual physical location. Go to https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help and a text box will pop up.

A bot will take information, and a person will reply later with an answer. They may need evidence, like geo-tagged photos, if it isn’t clear where the actual location is on maps. They do not reply through email, even though they ask for your email address. They reply in the chat box.

Be aware that they will not make edits to make something eligible to be used in Pokemon Go. Only request real world corrections.

Hello and welcome @gaialuna

It’s not always clear when you post what the best place is post.

As this is a general query about how to move a wayspot I am moving this to general discussion. If you are unclear what to do please do ask.

I have also closed the duplicate of this.

Hi,
I recived this email… what showld I do?
I just wanted to let you know where the exact spot is…

Hi

That looks like the discourse system letting you know as well, so need for concern.

Did you want to check that the move you wish to do is ok? If you do then post details and we will comment.

If you are comfortable that the change is correct you can just go ahead using the help chat.

It will be helpful to the staff to provide the evidence of the move. So attaching a photo can be helpful if streetview is out of date.

Sorry I don’t understand… could you explain it in a easier way please?

Someone can flag staff on the forum, which uses a platform called “Discourse,” by clicking on those three dots you see at the end of a post.

That brings up the flag icon.

I flagged the post so they could put the two together and in the right category. This helps others who have a similar question find it.
I believe you can change your settings so that you don’t also get emails if you don’t want to get them.

You moved the pokéstop further away

Eli didn’t move anything, but looking at the map, the pin seems to represent the photo very well, I dont see any adjustments needed.

I don’t know what’s in your pic… i’ll show you the bar and the restaurant in full nature:

I dont see anything on you satellite view selection that matches the waypoint photo… if it is indeed incorrect, you will need to share geotagged photos (or other evidence) proving so.

This photo from the listing for the restaurant on Google Maps seems to indicate that where the pin is placed is also part of the restaurant, and not just the area you highlighted in your image. You can clearly see that the structure where the photo is taken is the same as one directly below the bottom of where your outline is drawn, and that the two tables outside of the structure match up with those seen on satellite view, one of which is where the pin is located.

Yes, THIS is the place, as you can see from my pic and the pic you sent me (that matches whith mine)you can clearly see that the restaurant is in the building I’m showing you on maps, not the camp where people randomly park their cars, dogs, chairs and others.
I show you the pic again, I personally took the photos that you have put on the pokéstop, and you can compare that whith your pic. The pokestop you put in the garden is not part of the restaurant. Do whatever you want. I just tried to let you know the mistake, but it seems like you’re responding rudely to me. You sent me a photo that includes the exact buildings I circled, not tables randomly placed in the field, where, I repeat, there’s also a parking. If you think you can respond this way and know more about this place than the people who live there, do as you please. I thought this format was to help the comunity. I’ve always tried to contribute to this platform, but I’ll stop doing it from now on if that’s your attitude.

I am sorry if anything came across as rude to you. It isn’t reading that way to me.

We are not Niantic staff members, and we did not move anything. Anything that was said was trying to compare your photo to other verifiable photos of the place, including satellite view.

If the Wayspot is still incorrectly located, you can use help chat as I mentioned in my first comment.

I am not sure that this has been mentioned, but reviewers are able to move the pin in voting if they think it is not in the right place. That may have been what happened to yours, if it did not go live where you pinned it. Roli pointed out that the table on satellite view looks like the table in your photo.
