It’s an existing POI, as evidenced by my splat and pictures. It can be found on Mapa - Łódzki Rower Publiczny as station no. 16177. It’s been renovated since first going live as they’ve changed the provider, but it remains one of the most popular city bike stations in Łódź, as it’s located in the city centre, right next to the central tram station.
As at the time of its removal it was a p8 which I’ve used as an anchor, please dm me - there is a chance this was done by a player, who already got three of his accounts banned due to multi-accounting and is now reporting portals to spite me - ingress faction war stuff, I do not want to discuss it in public, as it concerns other players.
There’s plenty of space, so pedestrian access isn’t an issue (which can be verified with Google maps), the infrastructure the waypoint refers to is in place, and since new bike stations are being accepted, I don’t think it’s eligibility criteria… would the change of provider/graphic design cause it?
That’s a tough one. We can debate as to whether or not it should’ve ever been accepted, which I personally would say no and others may disagree. However, that’s not typically reason for removal in most cases. Niantic has been removing certain categories of POIs that should never have been accepted, but I don’t think this is really among those.
You say it’s a different company right? When you say change of provider. If that’s the case, they may have determined that changing the photo with a new company was repurposing the way spot and that it should’ve been removed and resubmitted with the new businesses information. I know that’s the case in several of the instances we’ve seen for things like pubs in the forum.
I was leaning towards the “repurposing” part, but I’m not sure if there were any attempts at changing the photo itself - I think PoGo players have even less of an incentive given the routes they attach to waypoints. Thank you for your input though, I appreciate it!
