Good Idea. I changed the wording in all my descriptions to this one.

Just leaving this here. Seems sticker markers get accepted everywhere but the Netherlands, as per usual.
The material is not relevant. The trail is.
We should only celebrate them if they have a trail name on the marker. No trail name = no exercise!
Why? If the markers are clearly part of a trail or route, why would you only follow it if there was a name on it?
I can get a lot of exercise and exploration following a series of routes where the markers donât have a name on them. The markers are not the critical element it is the route itself. So if there is enough to relate the marker to the route then that should be fine.
Those vinyl stickers are pretty hard wearing.
You can see on this one where I tried to peel it off to put in a separate cell but it wouldnât budge!
I believe he was being sarcastic.
Well, some trails just have Numbers or Letters as their trailmarker, some have symbols. There is no need to inist on the marker having a written trail name on them.
Really, there is no sense in the equation no trail name = no excercise.
It is late here and I canât always remember each brand of sarcasm
Sounds like you need to go and âstickerâ your head on the Pillow and call it a day or Trail for the next 8+ hours until the gate re-opens.
Yeah sorry, I was being sarcastic. I love to go out and find trails in our local forests. I submitted several of those trails with photospheres at every post. But since Iâm located in The Netherlands Niantic somehow found them unsuitable as wayspot and deleted my submitted trails. I quit submitting ever since they did, I hate they wasted my time and effort.
Its very sad what happened in NL.
Agreed, but it extremely difficult to get adhesive trailmarkers accepted (even if in great condition) and relatively easy to get others accepted (even if they are terrible). I very rarely bother submitting them now, even when they are part of a trail where the other wayspots have been accepted.
I agree the trail is the thing.
But when the trail markers appear at every stile / gatepost / field boundary (ie every few 100 metres), is it absolutely necessary to install a POI at each and every one.
Surely the entry and exit of a longer stretch of path is sufficient to celebrate the trail.
For example (Essex UK - St Peters Way) - are the circled POIs really necessary
Interesting point.
I first of all consider if its there then the official authority it was warranted to help mark the track.
Could I if walking along need help to reassure I ma still on the track?
The railway crossing (tunnel?) might be obvious if walking north to south you might need the one at the other side of the crossing as the path may obviously continue but it may not you finish the crossing and it may not be clear. There may be a stile into a field but then which way
So what might look puzzling on a 2D map might feel very different on the ground.
As with all things I use my judgement as a submitter to say whether what I am about to submit is distinct and important for the trail.
Of course. It would make the trail so much easier to follow while playing the game if every trail marker is represented in the game. And the more portals/Pokestops there are, the more playable each and every game becomes. There is literally no downside to there being as many wayspots as possible.
whoa! are you supposed to use those perpendicular planks as stairsteps for the trail?
Yes. Its a stile, and in very good condition too.
It is not clear but there is an upright to steady yourself whilst climbing over.
This is a stone version - doesnât look it now but when installed nearly 100 years ago the granite slabs were carefully crafted all along this route.
All over the UK to help you cross walls and fences.
Love a stile
Crazy huh?
Not only do we have legal rights to free movement often through âprivateâ land but theyâll even put in little steps (stiles) to help usđš
