I am trying to make a pokestop for a lake called Hanmer Lake I need some help nominating it so if anyone can help me that would mean the world to me!

Welcome to the forums 
It would be helpful to provide the location of the lake so that people can look at it to see if it has anything that makes it eligible as a wayspot.

If it’s a public place - like a park - there will probably be an identifying sign somewhere that you could use.

Also, please note that we are nominating Wayspots, not Pokestops. Some approved Wayspots will become Pokestops or Gyms, but this isn’t guaranteed.
Is this the lake you’re trying to nominate? I suggest taking a look at the Wayfarer map to see if this is already a Wayspot. If not, you should be able to submit a nomination through your phone or on the Wayfarer website.

The lake within itself I would struggle to support as it’s a Natural Feature. Are there any information signs, a Community / Welcome Centre that covers the lake? Are there any playgrounds, Statues, etc. that could be submitted?
There are beach sides and docks that could be submitted as well as flags and scenery.
I mean you’ve already given us the location, and this seems to be a pretty big lake if you mean the one at 46.7119444, -80.9716666. Are you trying to nominate the entire lake or like, a specific area?

Is there a sign for it? Otherwise I would do a scenic bench or something. Are there any hiking trails, picnic areas, community areas, official picnic spots?

I have merged the 2 topics together to help everyone see the whole picture.
This is a sizeable lake and it looks lovely. From what I can tell basically the lake is surrounded by houses along the shore.
Are any of those buildings not homes? Any places where people meet up?
A lot seem to have private piers as access to the water. Are there public piers. They would be good nominations.
Are there any trails around the lake or starting from the lake?
The scenery must be stunning all year round. For wayfarer as it’s about putting a spot on a map there needs to be some recognisable point on the ground to act as an anchor point for drinking in the view. It could be a bench or other distinctive structure.

Natural features used to be ineligible which might cause confusion among reviewers, so it’s possible a submission might fail due to this misunderstanding put pass another time.
You will need to find an anchor point for the wayspot, such as a pier, sign, viewing area or something similar. You probably would put the pin in the water, but I have seen that done.. so don’t.
As others have said, you might have more luck with ancillary locations rather than the lake itself.
