If you see a post in a language you don’t understand, feel free to press the globe icon to have it translated to your language. It may not be perfect, but it’s something.
Definitely a bonus when reading on a mobile phone
Just noticed that this doesn’t always work. An OP posted in Spanish, and I can read it in English (US), my default language. However, anyone that has replied in Spanish do not translate to English for me.
I’ve also seen with some Asian languages that the characters do not translate to your default language, so you may want to have a translator still available.
@DTrain2002 Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate your efforts in testing out the translation feature. Could you provide us with some specific examples of Asian language characters and the replies that are not being translated? This will help us investigate the issue further and make necessary improvements to our translation functionality.
This is my bad. I thought that text in another language would be auto-translated based on the preferred language you set up in Settings. I have found the globe icon now, and it works for me.
Tempting though it may be as you are probably used to hearing about cooldowns in Wayfarer this is a discourse thing rather than a wayfarer thing. At least its only 17 seconds compared to a wayfarer cooldown
Sorry, I was aware of that but it still seemed like the logical terminology
Kind of silly not to have infinite use of a translation function, though, right?
I’m less inclined to stick around reading a thread that does this every few posts
I also got this. Apparently the forum creators don’t like fast readers haha
It was a slightly lighthearted reply - everywhere you go someone wants you to have a cooldown
It does seem a bit odd.
Sometimes Translation services seem to fall over under the sheer weight of usage may be its trying to spread the load …meantime what we all need is a babel fish ( see hitchhikers guide)
I would’ve thought that with @26thDoctor around, the TARDIS might be dealing with all the translation shenanigans
Just run it through the Kawinator.
