When I try to translate every comment in a topic, I end up getting this after a few messages. Why is that even a thing?
You rebel translate reviewer! Shakes fist
If that’s a problem, you could try using the native translate for your browser. Mine has the ability to translate pages to English.
i have this ty
just wanted to know why there is a cooldown on using it. i hate finding the other thing in the menu (the translate option in the google dropdown list)
and using that chrome translate does not play well with the forum. issues with replying and others that i don’t recall right now. will try to keep a list.
I’m going to move this to Forum Suggestions since it seems to be related to the mechanics behind how the forum works, not how Wayfarer works. This is definitely a discourse issue.
I forget that is a category. ty
Thanks @cyndiepooh for raising this
Every time that happend I thought about posting it, it is sooo annoying.
I haven’t noticed this. My quick guess (I haven’t read Discourse fine print like others have) is that if it’s using a 3rd party service to translate it could be required to make micro payments for each translation so they limit the number of translations you can make over time.
Alternatively, I’ve noticed other behaviors Discourse identifies as “possible spam or bot activity” and clicking any button too often may trigger that.
Regardless, thanks for bring it up.
There was indeed a restriction on the number of translations in a time frame. We have increased that number. This should avoid such situations in future. Thanks,
And here I thought I was going to have to add this to the long-running translation bug!
