FYI, staff does not acknowledge S2 cell algorithms. That information is based on community observation.
Another community observation is that Sponsored gyms will count as one of the three for the cell, if there are any of those here.

When was the last wayspot accepted and which one was it? It takes a few days for the gyms to appear.

Pokestops are constantly being added to the cell, there are already 25 of them, and there are only 2 gyms
Thanks! While it does look like the area in yellow should have another gym, it also looks like the area in red has too many gyms. Was a gym moved from one to the other?
Only staff can do anything about enforcing the density and inclusion rules, so you don’t need to respond to me. But this is interesting, and I will be watching this topic.
(Noting that I checked the PokemonGo map and did not see any sponsored gyms.)
For what it’s worth, the wayspots for the four gyms in the red cell were (almost certainly) all in their current positions in May 2025.
@Burz1609 I suspect a strong likelihood of Niantic responding that everything is OK (or not responding), but I could be wrong.
Either way, since there is an apparently surplus gym not far away to the SW, on balance your gym count is correct
The cell bottom right just needs a more stop it seems for an extra gym!
If this is all sorted out I think the density in the bottom left cell would decrease alot, so the net result might be the same number of gyms in the end and less stops?

In re: the grid with “too many gyms”…
Remember that sponsored stops (i.e. Starbucks and Verizon stores in the US) aren’t visible in Wayfarer but do count. I’ve seen cases where a grid appeared to have less stops than its gym count would indicate but it actually had enough when sponsored stops were added to the count.
Or perhaps some stops were removed; I know of a grid that only has a gym and no stops, because all of the other wayspots were removed for being at a school.
The pokemongo.com map is showing three gyms in this cell fwiw.
