Interesting observation. It seems that Machine Learning (ML) aka Emily is taking the obvious resolutions (both accepts and rejects). I could see that Wayfinder voting takes a longer time now for the ones we do get.
Without knowing more about how they apply the designations (poor, fair, good, great) it’s hard to say what’s happening.
My assumptions are:
- the scale is dampened the more voting you have done. In other words it is harder to change your ranking if you are consistent over a long period of time and for a significant amounts of reviews completed.
- They may apply additional temporal requirements or filters (Kalman comes to mind). But it’s really hard to say. If they do, it would weigh current voting habits more strongly.
- Tests or ‘Honeypots’ could definitely impact your ranking, but I think they allow you to quickly correct from that.

We thought that our ratings were stable, but I’m sure we have been told that recent reviews are much more important than reviews from years ago?
I do wonder if we will all trend towards good/fair as Enily takes more and more of the things that have a strong obvious choice, and leave us with the grey areas and 50/50s?
Im pretty scared. Means also I cant help Morocco anymore because my reviews wont count for anything now Ive lost the great rating, so tuey won’t get resolutions anymore, and I cant review enough volume to even see any Moroccan reviews anymore
I do think that a Good rank still helps to get resolutions. But I understand if you want to pull back from an area where folks that do vote, may not be voting aligned to how you vote.
It’s a topic that I’m currently mulling over. We are active participants in a global experiment game. We are given guidelines but are allowed to interpret them ourselves. We interpret them for the most part in a footprint we are knowledgeable about.
While I tend to firmly believe I’m right in how I interpret the eligibility criteria and rejection items - there is wiggle room.
I am being a bit hyperbolic, but there are some identifiable reasons why folks may vote differently to the way I vote.
Edit to add: I vote as best I can. Please read some sass in my above comments.

I went from Great to Good a few days ago. I decided to stop reviewing.

I think rejecting the wayports that have schools in them have to do with my review dropping?
I rejected many schools. Now, I am afraid to reject anything.
You should reject all schools that are aimed at children (18 yrs old or under). That is a strict requirement by Niantic.

NOTE TO ALL -
The things I noted above should not strongly affect newer, infrequent, or voters with few votes.
I recommend these voters take time over weeks, to do 3-5 reviews (no more than 10), a few times a day. This lets the agreements catch up to those reviewers. This should keep you out of the poor or fair ranking.

Yes, if you have a rating at Good or Great, you will still receive upgrades. Those at Poor and Fair ratings do not receive upgrades until they reach at least Good.
Therefore, since I’m at Good, I’m not too worried.
Also, my percentage to my next upgrade went from 53% last night to 58% today. I’ve only been getting around 5-10% upgrade increases overnight, whereas they tend to be around 20-30% during the non-summer months. Global challenges get me more upgrades, someimes 2-3 a day.
