The problem is of the following nature. In our country, a group of players has formed who approve each other’s nominations simply to increase their number. By frequently accepting all of their friends’ nominations, they tend to ignore various violations such as location mismatches, fake nominations, or third-party photos. They communicate in messengers and ask each other to vote for their nominations without properly following the rules. I don’t know how to counter them because the number of players who want more in-game items is much larger than the number of people who want quality in-game items. In addition, they have several accounts, which helps them in accepting nominations.
What can be done in this situation?
It sounds like a voting ring, so the abuse form would be my first port of call if I came across this so that the team can investigate the area and names of those involved.
It’s at the top of the page but here’s a link if needed.
Please add as much detail as possible such as examples, extent of abuse etc.
Here is a link to their chat: Telegram: Contact @wayfarerKZ . In it, they discuss other people’s nominations and each other’s nominations. However, nominations from chat members are approved without any discussion. Often the nominations are playgrounds that are mass-produced and do not represent any value or visual uniqueness. (There are exceptions, but extremely rare). And also a huge number of nominations for signs of ordinary establishments that do not have any special features. These establishments include coffee shops, restaurants, shops, etc. However, in the city of Almaty (where most of these nominations come from), such establishments are located in almost every multi-story residential building. There are 5-6 such establishments per building, and many times more per residential complex. As a result, previously significant objects for the city are not visible against the backdrop of a huge number of low-quality nominations. The group organizer simply tries to put as many possible nominations (regardless of quality) so that there are in-game objects everywhere. As a result, due to the constant collective approval of all nominations in a row, users stopped paying attention to nominations that violate the rules.
Here is an example of one of the cases where no one noticed that the nomination was fake with photos from third-party sources:
The chat organizer sent it to this chat, and apparently approved it with the appropriate emoji.
This nomination has most likely already been removed due to my complaint. However, this does not disprove the fact that such chats interfere with the objective evaluation of nominations.
I recently mixed up the location of my nomination and reported it in this chat to have it rejected, but in the end even that didn’t help and the nomination was put in the wrong place. (I have already contacted support with a request to put the waspot in a real place.) Again, this is all due to the fact that players have stopped paying attention to considering nominations. We don’t have a very large Wayfarer community in the country, so 30+ chat members have a huge impact on the outcome of nominations.
It also got to the point where they started making very low-quality nominations for the sake of jokes. Here, for example, is a nomination for vandalism on a private garage. It says on it “BEWARE OF THE EVIL OLYA” (“ОСТОРОЖНО ЗЛАЯ ОЛЯ”). This nomination was submitted because of the chat organizer, whose name is also Olya (Olga).
Here earlier the organizer himself forgave another participant to submit this nomination. With the words that even without an upgrade they will be able to achieve approval of the nomination.
