Accepted Nominations Only Appearing As Portals, Not Stops

Fit For Parks - Pull Downs

Fit For Parks - Elliptical Trainer

I recently had these two submissions accepted by they have only shown up as portals. Even now, over 48 hours later, they have yet to show up as stops and I don’t expect them to at this stage. I realise that making submissions is giving Niantic data for maps and isn’t necessarily guaranteed to be included in your intended game, but these Fit For Parks pieces of equipment are brand new additions to Ray Bastin Reserve (located in Narre Warren South, Victoria, Australia) and it is super frustrating to not have them show up in Pokemon Go. I don’t have access to the cell map so I don’t know if they are sharing a cell (the 2nd one might be as the skate park is right near by) but is there anything I can do to get these added to Pokemon Go? Can I move their locations slightly so they aren’t being disapproved because of their cell placement?

“Fit For Parks - Elliptical Trainer” is in the same cell as “Ray Bastin Skate Park” so won’t appear on Pokémon Go.

“Fit For Parks - Pull Downs” is in the same cell as “ Ray Bastin Reserve Wetlands Sign” so won’t appear in Pokémon GO.

No. This can be considered abuse to misplace Wayspots just to make them appear on a game board. In the meantime, I’m sure Ingress players will be happy with some new Portals, so thanks from them via me.

Hello @TheLostLegend

It is unfortunate that these new addditions to the park can’t appear as pokestops/gyms. There is nothing that can be done. We don’t know the situation yet, but some wayspots that don’t fit normal inclusion rules might at some point appear as powerspots. Also I tend to look at places like these as being on the substitute bench in case something else gets removed.

There are however 3 open cells marked with yellow circles. I wasn’t sure if the one to south was an extension of the skate mark or something distinctive that could be submitted.
The Aussie rules posts can be submitted. I presume they are there for casual play and that is ok.
And I couldn’t tell what was in the cell to the north but it looked as though something might be there.

I am waiting for another submission to go through that is within that upper cell (pretty much where you circled, actually). I’ll try the goal post, thanks for the heads up. I’ll see if I can find anything for the other open cell but I am certain there is nothing. I think what you are seeing there is a park bench, from memory, but I’ll check next time I go there. I also have a submission pending within the border of that cell with four already in it which is kind of frustrating. The park has been renovated and these are the locations of the new landmarks unfortunately.

Perhaps someday there will be a globalized way to tell property type, and PokemonGO can change its proximity rules inside parks. Currently my county doesn’t even keep the same kind of data as a neighboring county - let alone a different country. But lots of data is standardized now, that people thought would be impossible (like medical records and insurance claims). Who knows what the future holds.
