During the challenge I submitted more photos than usual. Most of them were accepted immediately by ML. Often there was only one photo per wayspot, but for some (monuments, sculptures) I took several from different angles.
Now I have noticed that often only one photo was added to the wayspot. Two examples:
Is it because photo “A” looks somewhat similar to the existing photo? I also submitted this one, but more than two years ago. And it has completely different lighting conditions.

Nothing has been done yet, but it could be that neither of these posts are in Bug Reports & Technical Support. Hopefully a mod or ambo can move them both there so they get attended to.
@Drezus64 actually thought they had the same issue as you, but it turned out that the photos hadn’t synced yet. It’s not uncommon for others to think they have a similar issue, find a thread that seems to address it, and post there.
I don’t know why Aaron hasn’t responded back yet, so tagging them and other staff. @NianticAaron@NianticAtlas@NianticLC this appears to be some kind of bug/tech issue.
I can confirm the photos I’ve been waiting to sync also didn’t appear immediately on Lightship as OP also seems to expect, so it might as well be the same issue.
The OP’s didn’t show up after 48 hours, so the issue is different. Theirs are still not in any of the games, so it’s likely a tech issue for them. They first posted about this on Nov 24th, 11 days after the edits challenge ended, and they submitted the photos during the challenge (Oct 30th - Nov 13th).
If you look at their original post, their photos for Schwanenteich Pegau were accepted on Nov 5th, but 12 days later only 1 was showing up at the Wayspot; both were accepted, so both should be in game. That’s quite a long time for a photo to be synced, much longer than the typical 48 hours.
