I submitted a request to create a Pokestop on 10/23, which was accepted a few months ago and is available on Ingress, but it still hasn’t appeared in Pokémon Go! How can I report this issue and make the PokéStop show up in Pokémon Go?
Thank you for your help.
Hello and welcome,
This most likely isn’t a bug, as there are density rules for each game that determines game play locations.
First, let me explain Wayfarer better. We nominate Wayspots, not stops/gyms/portals, and, if approved, they are added to the Lightship map. Each Niantic game uses the Lightship map to determine game play locations, with the exception of Power Spots in PoGo. PoGo uses a S2 cell density rule, and Ingress has a 20 meter rule. More info on S2 cells can be found here:
https://pokemongohub.net/post/featured/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
It’s possible that the S2 cell has enough stops/gyms, and if this is the case, then the Wayspot won’t show up in PoGo.
If you would like to share the name of the Wayspot and the location, we can verify if it is the S2 level 17 issue.
Welcome @HeeroYvy !!!
Yes you nominated a pokestop and received an email thanking you for your contribution. This email referred you to wayfarer.
Then you got here. Now you get told that you didn’t nominate a pokestop at all. You did, in fact, nominate a wayspot.
Sorry for any confusion and yes things could be communicated much more clearly.
But, if you stick around and follow some discussions here you will learn how to make better nominations. Sooner or later, these will actually result in a new pokestop or gym.
