Hi everyone,
I’m currently submitting and reviewing Wayspots in a very remote location (Crozet Islands – Alfred Faure research station), and I’ve run into something a bit confusing.
One of my nominations (a chapel) has been accepted and appears in the “Community” map on Wayfarer, but it still hasn’t appeared in Pokémon GO after more than 48 hours.
Also, I’ve used upgrades on other nominations (a mural and a museum), but they are still in queue.
I was wondering:
- Is it possible that Wayspots in very remote locations take longer to sync into Pokémon GO?
- Could this be related to S2 cells or proximity rules, even if there are no existing PokéStops nearby?
- Or is this just a sync delay?
If anyone has experience with very isolated locations or similar situations, I’d really appreciate your insight.
Thanks a lot!
There was no synchronisation between Wayfarer and Pokémon GO for the past few days. You have to wait until it resumes.
If you share coordinates, some users here can additionally check if the cell rules are met
Very remote locations usually don’t have reviewers at all so upgrades don’t do anything

Niantic have acknowledged the sync delay but there is no known date for when this will be fixed.
