So, I got this to review last night, and found it quite odd, so I reported it as abuse/fake nomination using the Report button during review.
Now, today, I see that it has been approved, and is on the map.
I find it odd that a developer would be allowed to test Wayfarer in this way. The cell in PoGo was empty before this, and it was placed in the middle of the street in front of some row houses.
This is in Columbus, OH, USA, at 39.984583, -83.00366799999999, for anyone interested.

i was wondering if i should also do a report
(there is a nearby courts of the world import they could have taken the photo from)
To make the conclusion that it is âapprovedâ and âon the mapâ, you are using a developer tool restricted to developers. This tool can contain all sorts of wayspots, some of which will never go live, and is not equivalent to any gameâs map. You are making an incorrect assumption.

but maybe it really was a developer submitted wayspot if it is on the developer site. i thought that was a lie. otherwise, i would have rejected for SFPRP.
It wasnât there last nightâŚ
It was also in queueâŚWhat test scan could they be doing for Wayfarer?
The image placeholder could be taken from anywhere, as itâs easy to find via a web search.
well niantic got me good if that is what they were going for.
i know how to use google lens. i meant that person i thought was faking would have seen nearby what the placeholder image looked like.
Yes, I saw that one as well, but we donât know what is going on, so you have to look at all angles, not just one.
taking a break from reviewing if niantic scopely niantic scopely is going to start tricking us.
This was the only one I received so far, but itâs concerning. Being the description says itâs a âtest scanâ doesnât make sense when it comes to Wayfarer. Also saying you are a developer submitting is odd, and having no photos, too. Placing it in front of some row houses (which is actually multi-family, not single family, as the building has 4 homes) and in the middle of the road is another thing that is off.
Wait.
IITC is a developer tool?
OP saw this in Wayfarer review, flagged it as abuse, then checked IITC to see that it seemed to have gone live.
Which assumptions have been made? What different language or behavior would you recommend, instead?
Something funny is going on, whether by a âdeveloperâ, a user, or the administrators.
Where is the IITC screenshot where it is live, please?
The geospatial browser is developer, not IITC. Itâs not a portal in IngressâŚyet. Sync most likely hasnât occured, but itâs quite strange.
And yes, it was in the queue of review. Also strange. Not the first time there have been strange things to review.
upon reflection, i stand by my review of this as a fake nomination. waiting on my educational email.

I also stand by my reporting it as fake/abuse.
I also went with âfake nominationâ for this. I guess weâll be in the same re-education class.
I believe its fake too. More like someoneâs attempt to make wayspot by confusing public. Niantic/scopely can make sponsored pokestop without all this.

Iâm confused about the worry over getting educational emails or assumptions this is being used for testing?
I do not like being played. If this was actually a test by a developer and I should have accepted it, it should have been announced.
If this was not a real nomination, I should not have had it to review.
If I was supposed to report this, I failed.
Do many of us now know a developerâs home address?
