Apparently a 25 million dollar state-of-the-art theme park attraction isn't permanent or distinct enough

How on God’s green Earth does a wayspot submission about a 25-million-dollar theme park attraction based on a HUGE video game franchise that has also been turned into a successful movie with a sequel on the way get rejected for “not being permanent or distinct”? What is wrong with these reviewers? How is this in any way a submission that I need to use an appeal on to get it approved?

I mean the Uncharted series is not very distinct to me. Nathan who? :man_shrugging:t3:

Jokey personal gaming opinions aside though, I am very surprised this wasn’t accepted.

This does look strange.
Can we see the full nomination to see if there is any hint of a reason for that rejection.

Found the website for the park and the ride:

I might’ve rushed the supporting information a bit because it was my turn to get on the ride but I shouldn’t have to write a bloody essay to sell this.

I’ve seen worse supporting texts - it’s brief but at least it’s not just “please accept my pokestop”.

To get round the problem of not having time (and dodgy internet), I never upload on the spot - I always upload later, then upload, put on hold and give a proper write-up.

I’d take the supporting photo from further away - it looks too much like the main photo which could be a problem.

Yeah, there’s a lot you could have done to definitively prove the location for this in supporting. Any or all of these would help:

  • take a photo that shows more of the surroundings
  • list the section of park its in (Far West?)
  • list the year it opened (2023)
  • link to an online map of the park
  • link to an online article or wikipedia about the ride itself
  • describe the location based on what can be seen on satellite (what buildings/attractions are on either side, in front, behind, etc)

Obviously, this exists in the park. But i can’t verify that it exists where you have placed it. Of course, the review screen shows an interactvie map.

Here’s satellite. So, it looks like you have placed it fairly accurately. Often i will mwntion something like “As can be seen on satellite, i placed the pin at the entrance.”

I think this is a great use of the appeals system: the ability to go back and add the missing supporting information that you weren’t able to at the time without having to go back and try again. But maybe you want a reason to go back and try again on this one =)

And another unfathomable rejection for the same bogus reasons. This time it’s a restaurant just outside the theme park that’s basically the official restaurant of the Spanish soccer league. It has TV’s all throughout and was packed with people watching Tottenham VS Manchester United when I ate there. Obviously a great place to be social with others. But again rejected because of completely ridiculous reasons.

I’m starting to think the local Spanish reviewers just reject every submission that isn’t in Spanish.

Reviewers shouldn’t be rejecting because the language is different than what is normally spoken/read in the area. If they want to edit the Wayspot into Spanish later after it’s been accepted, they can do that. As long as the language being used is accurate, it shouldn’t matter.

LaLiga TwentyNines may be a harder sell, as there are a few other locations, with 2 separate locations in Madrid and another in Doha, Qatar. It appears that neither of the Madrid locations have Wayspots, so the local reviewers may not see them as distinct enough, or that they are just generic businesses. They could even think this way because these are owned by LaLiga, as the main office for the restaurants is at the LaLiga corporate office per the restaurants’ contact info.
