Good Afternoon All, Ive been round my local park and submitted non signage entrances to hopefully create more POI. I’ve had two fail, with one appeal being accepted and one rejected. I’d like the rejected appeal to be looked at, here’s all the relevant information below -
Rejected appeal -
Accepted appeal -
Thank you very much for looking into this for me.
The rejected appeal says its because its a “regular entrance to a park”
That doesn’t sound right to me! I hope staff can take another look at this. Park entrances typically make good nominations as parks are great places to socialise and exercise, and they do not require a sign.
Hello and welcome @mchrism
Park entrances and wayspots for a park are an area for judgement calls.
They are eligible but then have to be acceptable,
You mention one was accepted on appeal. That is good. They question for me is then is this one distinct enough - is it far enough away from the other? different area of the park?
Basically the same sort of entrance eligibility criteria you would consider if it had a sign.
Could you give some more information please.
Of course I can. They’re in completely separate areas of the park. There’s only currently 2 “entrances” that have POI, these both have signage. I learnt about the criteria pertaining to non signage entrances being eligible so I gave this a go. There are 4 entrances which were meant to receive signage but due to whatever it was within the local council funding was never made available for this and so I’m now attempting to get these through without them.
Thanks had a look and it is a spread out park. So it is down to a judgement, You need to wait and see.
Exactly that mate, hopefully me posting here reverses the decision. As it turns out another one of mine has just been rejected so I’ll just resub as I’m now out of appeals! But that’s not what this thread is for. Playing the waiting game..
