Appealing rejected wayspot removal on restricted military base

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: BX Gazebo

  • Location (lat/lon): 42.612633,-82.822411

  • City: Mt Clemens, Michigan

  • Country: United States of America

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): This is a restricted military base. To quote NianticCasey: “Wayspots on Military bases do not meet our eligibility criteria and should be outright rejected”

Hello @NurseWhoLovedMe

There is actually more nuance to things being accepted on Military Bases. Being on a base is not necessarily a flat rejection. There are many things on a base that are there for recreation or exploration. Think athletic fields and museums. These items can be used by the families and guests. See the recent clarification from Niantic to learn more:

So you may need to include information about why you don’t think this particular feature is acceptable.

Thanks for the appeal, @NurseWhoLovedMe. We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
