Appel Bannisement

It’s located somewhere around that area.

The location in your submission email is 50.448023, 4.417962

This looks to be slightly incorrect. 50.447868, 4.417751 seems closer and is in a different cell. Nothing in showing in either cell in Ingress, but it’s possible something has been added to the cell at the crossroads since the Ingress/Pogo split.

You will need to check by being at the actual location using the map that appears at the start of the submission process.

If that cell has anything near it - if there is anything near the crossroads - then this is likely to be the reason for the suspension, as your submission is incorrectly placed.

If that cell is still empty, then this misplacement doesn’t seem to benefit anyone, looks more like error and it might be possible to appeal it. Note however that streetview images are not good enough to show the marker, so you would need a GPS-tagged photo to provide it exists there.

A 30-day ban for a point of interest that was unintentionally misplaced?

I don’t know all the specific zones for points of interest — I submit them through Pokémon GO, so I have no visibility of the cells or anything like that. I had absolutely no intention to cheat or do anything wrong. I simply wanted to add a point of interest for Pokémon GO players in the area.

“Here is the GPS point that my phone gives me for the location shown in the photo.”

Ok it looks like there are some error in location

Is there any wayspot in that cell? People might think you are attempting to put wayspot in empty cell

To help your appeal, please check whether I am correct about the slight location error, that there is nothing else near the crossroads (this is very important), and then provide proof that the marker exists there (streetview isn’t working for this).

E.g., a picture that can be categorically matched back to streetview plus that streetview URL. A GPS-tagged photo

it might also help to acknowledge the location error (if I am correct about that) but that it was not intentional and of no benefit.

There may be an official link to appeal the suspension, but I’m not sure (someone else might be able to post it if there is.)

Op can appeal in the link inside email

Anyway moving forward, if you accidentaly missplaced wayspot submission, you can admit your fault and explain. My understanding is that trail sticker in pole near junction thats visible from street view is your nomination. If this is not correct and there is another pole back there, you need to prove this by getting video. You can upload video and get the link to appeal.

I am sorry to hear this but reviewer dont know if its unintentional or intentional. There are many people missplaced wayspot submission in order to get more wayspot (myself included - i got my 30days suspension before because of this). You need to prove its unintentional to appeal team. You dont have to post everything here. Just make sure to explain in appeal staff. You can find the link to appeal inside email given to you.

I also noticed a discrepancy in the location. My estimated location is different. I estimated that the location of the root where this shadow is located is correct. However, this estimate is off by about six meters.

There is a Pokéstop at my blue dot, but I didn’t know it was part of the same zone. As I mentioned above, I place my points of interest through Pokémon GO.

If thats trail sticker is in that pole, meaning its quite near junction. It make people think you are missplacing wayspot submission into empty cell. Please mark where is real location of the pole.

You can explain it to appeal team . I believe you ald know what happened. No need reply to me . As long you make ur case to appeal team.

Moving forward, always double check your submission location.

Indeed, it’s on that pole which is about 4 to 5 meters from the junction, so my submission may not be perfectly precise, but it’s certainly not 10 meters off either. I’ve sent an email and I’m waiting for a response.

However, if their reply is negative and I end up missing a major event because of something so minor and completely unintentional — especially since I never use zones when submitting PokéStops — it will likely lead me to quit the game. It’s unfortunate to be banned for this, while in some cities PokéStops are completely inaccurate and yet those players aren’t banned…

Good luck. I am sorry to hear this. But hopefully you will return. Personally i miss black and white kyurem. It was saddening. But i move on and return.

Now I’m going to miss out on a free Ethernatos, so that’s really frustrating. They refuse to admit it was a mistake and claim I tried to manipulate the map.

I have nothing to hide. I received a response, and they didn’t look any further. To them, we’re nothing—no support, no benefit of the doubt. It’s disheartening to invest time and money into their game, only to be dismissed as if we meant nothing.

I am really sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing your reply email.

That’s a fair discrepancy “certainly not 10 meters off“ and “over 20 meters away”.

That, the fact that actual location being in a different cell and it’s a 2nd offence lead me to believe that the suspension is justified.

Its actually misplaced by 35 meters, quite a distance.
