Approved Wayspot Not in Pokémon GO – Can I Submit It Again?

Good day,

I have a question regarding Wayspots that have been approved and are visible in other Niantic games (such as Ingress), but do not appear in Pokémon GO.

If the S17 cell where the Wayspot is located is not already occupied in Pokémon GO, is there any way to make it appear there? Or would submitting it again from Pokémon GO be flagged as a duplicate, even though it’s not currently visible in that game?

I appreciate any clarification or advice you can offer to help avoid unnecessary rejections and ensure that eligible Wayspots can also appear in Pokémon GO.

Thank you in advance

Are you able to provide a screenshot of the Wayspot from Contribution Management? If it was approved, you don’t want to submit again, but with the maps not being quite in sync, you may need to file a bug report for a possible dead L17 cell.

There’s nothing on the Intel or GSB maps, so it’s a little hard for anyone other than staff to look further into this without seeing the full nomination, to know it was approved.

Oh, and I see the coffee shop is called Veni Vici, and still not finding it on the maps.

Yes, I’m sharing the screenshots for better clarity:

  1. First image: Shows the Pokémon GO map, where the Wayspot already exists, although it’s not active in the game.

  2. Second image: Corresponds to the IITC map, where it’s clear that the S17 cell is empty, meaning the Wayspot could potentially appear in Pokémon GO.

  3. Third image: Displays the name of the location already approved as a Wayspot, Veni Vici Café.

  4. Fourth image: Shows the exact location of the café, which is where I would like to suggest the Wayspot again, if possible.

In this case, it appears as though the location is an imported Power Spot rather than an actual wayspot. Niantic imported a lot of data from a third party source to be used as Power Spots. These locations have no pictures and are often business locations. For some reason they decided to include them on this map even though they’re not wayspots, and they didn’t even give them a unique icon.

So in this case you should be able to submit it without it being marked as a duplicate by regular reviewers. Just be aware that if you end up having to appeal it, the appeal reviewers can see the Power Spot imports and may mark it as a duplicate, even though it isn’t actually a wayspot.
