I admire someone who asks for and takes advice. I tend to play it safe (I don’t like rejection!) Nothing wrong with a retry. As long as the POI meets the criteria, go for it.
One thing I’d add is to consider the reviewer and the review process when submitting. This first thing I do is look at the picture. If it gets my attention, you’re past step one, if not I may not go much further. Then I’d read the Description. If the picture was borderline, this is where you have to sell me. Not too wordy but to the point and honest. I’ll then check the location. I’ll look at the satellite view and probably the streetview. I’ll compare it to the supplemental photo. If it’s indoors this is obviously a problem and to some degree relies on trust in the submitter. The supplemental information is last. Why does the submitter thing it meets the criteria. Is it a place to socialize. exercise and/or explore. You are a salesman.
Don’t oversell or undersell., the product should in a way sell itself.
Gift shops may meet the explore criteria, especially if they sell items that are made locally that one may not be able to find elsewhere. Most of the gift shops in the hospitals in my area sell locally made food items, handmade items like quilts and knitted/crocheted items created and donated by volunteers, jewelry and art from local artists, etc. I also know of one that has a coffee shop inside, so it may also be a great place to socialize.
Yeah, i just don’t see it. Ours has some local gifts like bracelets and jewelry. It’s still just a convenient place to buy a gift for an employee or patient. I would not seek out any of these specialty items otherwise
“ This location is dedicated to students and faculty alike to relax and socialize from class. The university offers this location as a sanctuary prohibiting smoking encouraging healthy life practices. There are seats through out the field under trees. This location promots positive socialization.”
Honestly, i don’t think this is a good submission. You’ve got a single bench. Behind that, there’s a depression that kinda looks like a ditch (with a drain). This doesn’t look like a great place to socialize to me.
I agree with @seaprincesshnb. Also, a single bench can serve as an anchor for a scenic view but a single bench alone doesn’t say POI. Are those picnic tables further up the walk?
Your supporting info reads more like a description, and the description is pretty vague. Supporting info should be telling of why this meets criteria, and for POIs not on Street View, where it’s located, especially since this is a hospital. It appears to be a lobby area.
The main photo also seems a little blurry, and that could be due to the light above the plaque. You can certainly use the remaster setting to see if that helps adjust the brightness and make the words a little clearer to read; I almost always take my photos beforehand and use the remaster setting to adjust things like brightness, contrast, saturation, etc, automatically, and this is fine to do.
Also, it’s Plaque with a Q, not Plague with a G, and I don’t think this can seriously make many people sick with an illness.
Alright I’m going to head back to the main lobby and try some new pics. This place is off to the side of the Chappell used located at the main front entrance. Voice to text doesn’t always do great with me … I just get too much into a rush to properly proof read… but yes plaQue not plaGue
Keep in mind that you can edit titles, descriptions, and supporting infos after uploading in Contribution Management. You’re not the only one that has spelled something wrong when submitting; I’ve done so and had to correct after the Wayspot was accepted!
These are great. Do not worry about them being marked as third party. Theres no evidence that posting them here in the forum while askingbfor help results in that rejection.
