Description of the issue:
Two PokéStops in my area — “Saengdong Playground” and “The Liv Apartment Residents’ Playground” — have disappeared after I edited their locations. I believe they may have overlapped within the same S2 cell, causing them to be removed. Unfortunately, I no longer know the exact original coordinates of the PokéStops.
Date first (or most recently) experienced:
November 3, 2025
Device type, model, and operating system:
iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18.1
Game & Game Version (if applicable):
Pokémon GO, version 0.319.1
Additional information:
The PokéStops were originally visible near my home area in Cheonan, South Korea. After submitting a location edit, both disappeared from the map entirely. Please check if they can be restored to their previous positions or if there was an error with the location edit process.
Hello and Welcome,
It sounds like you edited the locations and staff agreed that they where in the wrong location to start with.
What they will not do is change a location from a “correct” location to an “incorrect” (or even another correct) location just for gaming reasons.

Thank you for your candid feedback and clarification on Niantic’s policy. I appreciate you taking the time to explain that moves from a “correct” location for gaming reasons are not allowed.
I fully agree that real-world accuracy is paramount. However, my current situation revolves around an initial error in the move process itself, which I believe led to the current inaccurate placement.
The Wayspot was originally at a location that was actually accurate to the real-world Point of Interest (POI). I regret that the subsequent move request (whether initiated by me or approved by reviewers) resulted in the Wayspot being pinned to a location that is incorrect
My request to revert the location is therefore not for gaming reasons, but purely for data correction to ensure the Wayspot accurately reflects the POI’s
I understand that game benefits cannot be the primary reason for a move. Nevertheless, correcting this error is crucial because:
• The area is extremely underserved with very few Wayspots. This single, correct Wayspot is vital for encouraging safe exploration and community interaction here.
• Having a Wayspot disappear due to an inaccurate pin placement is a net loss for the community and undermines the goal of having an accurate and rich map.
I am planning to submit a detailed request to the Niantic Wayfarer Help Chat with compelling evidence (geotagged photos, map comparisons) to prove the original location was the accurate one.
Has anyone else experienced an accurate Wayspot being moved to an incorrect spot during review? Any advice on which type of evidence (e.g., specific map services, 360 photos) is most effective for Niantic Staff to review?
Thank you again for the helpful policy clarification. I hope to resolve this purely on the grounds of location accuracy.
Hi and welcome,
Please write in your own words if possible - this is very hard to read. You are very welcome to use any other language.
Not everything you submit is eligible to appear in Pokémon GO. Your moved wayspots are likely still present in the Wayfarer database, just not meeting the Pokémon GO density rules anymore so the goal of an “accurate and rich map” as you say is met. It’s just that not all wayspots will be eligible for Pokémon GO, which only takes subsets of wayspots to turn into Pokéstops. See here for more details: Why an accepted Wayspot may not be used in Pokemon Go (S2 cells and Pokemon Go)
In the interest of avoiding disappointment: wayspot density and other arguments related to losses to the Pokémon GO community are the very definition of “game benefits being the primary reason for a move”, so unfortunately I doubt such a request will be addressed by help chat.

Thank you for the clarification!
I understand that not every Wayspot appears in Pokémon GO due to the density and S2 cell rules.
However, my intention with the location edit was not to gain any in-game advantage,
but to make the map more accurate — the previous location was slightly off from the real-world point of interest.
It just happens that after the approved edit, both Wayspots became invisible in Pokémon GO,
so I wanted to confirm whether they’re still active in the Lightship database.
If they remain valid Wayspots, that’s perfectly fine — I just wanted to ensure they weren’t deleted by mistake.
You can go to the area they used to be visible and open the in game process to submit a new PoI, and on the map provided you should be able to click on the orange ! signs to see what they are. If these stops were deleted, there will be nothing there, but they’re probably still there as ! which means you might get to see them as powerspots in future

Hey @Adx2afterward ,
There is no error with the edits. The Wayspots are at their correct locations and do not require any adjustments.
Thanks,
Thank you for your response. However, I believe there may still be an issue with the current locations. The Wayspots “Saengdong Playground” and “The Liv Apartment Residents’ Playground” are not visible in Pokémon GO even though they were previously valid and correctly located. I kindly request that the team double-check their visibility status or confirm whether they have been temporarily delisted due to cell density limits. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thank you so much for your kind explanation!
I really appreciate you taking the time to clarify that — I didn’t realize those Wayspots might still exist in the database even if they’re no longer visible in Pokémon GO. I’ll definitely try checking the area and see if any orange “!” markers show up.
Your comment helped me understand the system much better. Thanks again!

Hopefully you get these showing up as a power spot in future, which may still happen
