PokéStop disappeared after location edit

Hello,

A Wayspot I edited was moved incorrectly and caused a PokéStop to disappear in Pokémon GO.

I contacted support but received no response after 11 days.

The Wayspot name is Parque Urbanización Cajamarca.

Could a moderator please review this case and restore it to the original location?

Thank you.

Hi hello,

is the wayspot that disappeared the park or something else? What are the coordinates?

Hola,

Qué forma de suporte has contactado?

Hello,

I contacted Pokémon GO support through the in-game help and also via the support website.

Before the location edit, the Wayspot was correctly placed and it was 100% functional in Pokémon GO.

The edit was a mistake and caused the PokéStop to disappear incorrectly.

Could this please be reviewed by Niantic staff?

Thank you.

Hello,

Yes, the Wayspot is Parque Urbanización Cajamarca.

The coordinates (-7.158896, -78.510568) correspond to the current location after the edit, where the PokéStop is not appearing in Pokémon GO.

Before the edit, it was in a slightly different position where it was 100% functional.

I believe the edit caused the PokéStop to disappear unintentionally.

Could this please be reviewed by Niantic staff?

Thank you.

It looks like it was moved into same C2 cell that already has a pokestop (Pileta ornamental).

This is very difficult or impossible to fix as both locations, old and new are technically right… This new location is simply less good for players.

Hi,

I understand that a small location edit has caused the stop to disappear, I did have a look, and probably the previous location was just a bit to the south, that is now an empty cell.

I don’t think the previous location was wrong, but it does look like the new location is better, so I’’m affraid it will not reappear.

Ninantic staff may decide otherwise, but usually if the location is correct, we don’t see adjustments.

Hello,

Thank you for your explanations.

I would like to clarify that the location edit was made by accident. When I realized the mistake, the edit was already in voting, so I could not cancel or correct it.

Before the edit, the Wayspot was placed in a position that better represents the real location and it was fully functional in Pokémon GO.

The new location, even if technically acceptable, is less accurate and caused the PokéStop to disappear due to cell rules.

I would really appreciate if this case could be reviewed and considered for a correction.

I am afraid it wont appear as pokestop. It might appear as powerspot though. Please be careful next time when making edit

If it is a “deactivated” pokestop through a location edit it will not become a powerstop I think

Assuming that you are correct, and that the old location was more accurate, you may be able to successfully appeal. The only legit reason to move a wayspot is if the proposed location is more accurate. If you could provide evidence that the former location is more accurate (for example by using a picture with embedded GPS coordinates, or with a link to a video), staff may be able to help you.
