Can someone check why these wayspots don’t appear?

Edited

if approved months ago, this isn’t due to the current sync failure for Pokemon GO, which means that recent changes to the wayfarer map are not being picked up into Pogo.

It’s in a cell by itself, so no obvious explanation. I can’t remember if these trail markers are eligible though, which might have something to do with it not appearing (or might not)

This would be affected by the sync failure, except it is blocked by Skate plaza (51.035209,3.204170), so will only get used as a powerspot not a pokestop.

Sorry I accidentally switched up when they were approved. I made an edit to the post. The powerspot was approved early January, so should have synced by now. The pokestop is a trail marker, Niantic guidelines say that this kind is always a valid wayspot, any marker is a valid standalone wayspot they mention somewhere. There are many of this kind that have been approved by the community and showed up in a timely manner

You are correct these are not eligible as stated here:

Oh thanks for the link, I understand their reasoning for the biking sign

Powerspots appear on rotation

  • visible and active
  • visible and not active
  • not visible

When the marker is deemed to be just street infrastructure, it is not eligible. Please see the thread that @iFrankmans posted.

Being in the UK, I do not fully understand the reasons for this decision, but it is fairly clear even if controversial. Existing wayspots will have been accepted by the community even though they are not eligible.

A statement that could be read something like this was made on the old forum, just so you know you didn’t imagine it. This is not the case now. Folks are pointing you to the current guidelines.

I read the linked comments. So I understand no pokestop there. Even tho I don’t agree.

But regarding the powerspot about the nature sign, same cell as the skate park pokestop but far enough: it doesn’t show up during max monday either. Any idea if the sign is a kind that’s not eligible?

I am confused. Being an accepted Wayspot does not mean it will be used in game in any capacity. Power Spots have been observed to be added to the pool of available choices normally once a month, but that does not mean that it will be used.

It is good to know that sync to the games has had some issues in the past days:

I forgot about max monday. The nature sign is the only wayspot in its cell (apart from the one used as a pokestop) so it should get used as a powerspot.

[EDIT: apparently not true! it is rare for wayspots to be available but unused (when not blocked)]

Disabled wayspots is normally due to the property owner requesting it, which is fairly unlikely here. The trail marker above is a special example.

The nature sign was approved in early January according to the op, so this doesn’t seem like it is relevant for this specific wayspot.

I do not find this to be true. I have plenty of Wayspots on my nearby that would be eligible to be Power Spots that are not being used that way.

Wanted to add this: apart from the possible powerspot “Laat ons een bloem Wingene” there is only one other wayspot that counts and shows up as a powerspot in-game in that cell. So I thought the new one would show up during Max Monday (or in last season, when always 2 powerspots were active per cell).

I double checked all coordinates and their distance to each other in IITC

Please use Niantic Wayfarer

IITC is no longer connected to Wayfarer and Pokemon Go.

You can add ur own spots and coordinates, I used coordinates from wayfarer map, not relying on old data

The imported wayspot is less than 22m from the nature sign. I hadn’t noticed it because the dots on the wayfarer map are smaller for the imports; apologies!

I do not know how they make the decision which wayspots to use as power spots. We have determined that they must be in an occupied L17 S2 cell at least 22m from any Pokestop or gym.

Both of these old Wayspots meet those requirements. But only one is being used as a Power spot sometimes, and is not currently in the pool to be used.

Which do you mean by imported wayspot? Ps This is zoomed in, should be far enough, no?
