Excited to be here!

I have been playing Pokemon Go since 2016 and Pikmin Bloom for a couple of years now, and finally decided to explore Wayfarer so I can contribute for my community! I’m so excited to get started because my town just recently installed a brand new fitness trail in an area I like to visit, and all around the half mile long paved path, they have outdoor fitness equipment at perfect distances from each other for POIs! There’s also a historic art installation and a playground at this location.

I’m looking forward to submitting these new POIs to draw more attention to the new fitness trail! My community is going to love this!

Thank you so much for allowing folks like myself to contribute like this, it’s awesome!

I have a question maybe you can help with-

Since I plan to submit a lot of entries because the fitness trail is a new public installation, is there anything I should know about submitting many entries in a short period of time? Thanks in advance!

First and foremost, review the criteria and guidelines on the help center. And, if you wish to submit trails, you must read the below article:

This is a great resource, thank you so much!

The place I intend to mark is indeed a trail, but it was only just recently established and has no clear trail sign. I’m not sure if my local park board intends to place a marker there or not, but I can easily as them about that! If there are no trail signs, can a trail still be submitted?

Trail Markers act as anchors for the trail. It may be difficult to get a trail approved without a marker.

I actually just called my local park board to ask about installing a trail marker and they were open to it! The didn’t know anything about Wayfarer or Pokemon Go, but I explained it to them and they loved it. The trail is in a memorial park, so we discussed making the trail marker an information plaque as well. It’s really cool that this is inspiring actual change locally!

Welcome, Just a couple of suggestions…

A: When you decide what is going to be your 1st nomination take an extra couple of images (main and supplemental, similar to what you will use) (using the same images could cause problems with the nomination).

Consider what you plan to use as Title, Description and Supplemental info.

Post these in a thread in “Nomination Support”.

People here will make suggestions which you can decide if you want to implement on the real nomination.

B: As the Fitness Trail is unlikely to be on Street View / Satellite yet I suggest download an app called GPSCameraApp . Use this to take the supplemental image (NOT the main image) it will add the GPS Co-ordinates on to the photograph.

Also with the supplemental, make sure you get the object in view but also try to get something in the background that can be matched in Street View.

Good luck.

Thank you very much! I used to volunteer for the parks department, so they know me by name lol That helps!

In the meantime I’ll just submit the fitness equipment and playground at the trail as POIs and hopefully we’ll get a trail marker established eventually!

I also submitted a new route via Pokemon Go that goes all around the fitness trail, so hopefully that helps as well!

This is excellent info! Thank you so much! You are correct, it is so new it is very likely not on street view yet.

When you have more stops / gyms to choose you may be able to create smaller “Trail Sections” routes.

Same walk, more routes…
