Can we get more rewards for reviewing - Discussion

Just thought of somerhing.

I think incorrect appeal decisions can be posted anywhere so the community can discuss over them. When there is agreement from the community that the appeal could be incoreectly rejected the topic can be moved to a special category (which can not be used for creating topics) like I suggested in my earlier message, this way we keep it clear of any correct appeal decisions and it won’t get too overwhelming for staff.

Achievable? I defenitely think so

At a minimum a tag could be created for incorrect appeal decisions…

The AMA pointed out that of the 100k submissions processed each month by the team, 99% of the time they are quality decisions. I think it’s rare that the team gets a decision wrong for an appeal, but that’s why staff have asked us to point it out here in the forums.

It’s for sure something that is doable, giving more appeals for reviewing. It may have to be based on reaching a certain number of agreements, what youre Wayfarer rating is, etc, but it certainly could be done.

Or a scenario where I’m My Own Grandpa.

But seriously and technically would that workflow ever end? Or are you suggesting just a one-off?

Or an option that gives you a choice to decide the rewards best suited to you.

It’s like you pick the Squirtle path and I’ll pick the shiny armored Mewtwo route - we’re both happy.

Staff most likely won’t be able to please everyone, so there may not be a system similar to choosing a path for research in PoGo. As I noted, I don’t think these rewards should be game-centric, and if they do give us some type of reward, it may not be something that everyone is able to use.

I have 75 upgrades right now, and barely use my appeals; I also don’t use up all of my nominations daily. So, if the choice was to gain an upgrade, an appeal, or extra nominations, that doesn’t help me, but I know it will help someone else.

As I noted, I don’t think these rewards should be game-centric,

I should have posted the full question I had about the whole balancing the risk and rewards. But anyway, if we ignore the submissions and contributions (quality edits and reports) part for now and only focus on the reviewing side of things then it’s pretty much like the Challenges (when we can get them to work - ahem). I know some who only do the Challenges for the rewards apart from that they don’t review much at all. Would you think it would be a success otherwise?

Would Forum benefits be something of interest? Tie it in with that - you get access to more features, change or exclusive avatars, custom badges and so on.

Or you have early access to beta versions of Wayfarer, Wayfarer Map and Web Submissions as a reward? I’m hoping they are all integrated so it is a one stop shop but still waiting for Reports to be integrated into the Contributions section so who knows.

Or you get one feature request added to Wayfarer.

Or you get distance increased / limitations removed

Or you get a boost in the le… actually did we get a breakdown of what the leaderboard feature was? And what the rewards were with that? Could tie it in with that. It wasn’t answered but don’t think it was ever asked in the AMA.

Or you get one question guaranteed to be answered at the next AMA.

Or be interesting if you unlock features on the Wayfarer Map so you earn trusted points and can now edit any Wayspot anywhere in the world.

Does sound like you’re more like me, it’s about the map / data and not any game.

It’s a shame you can’t gift your upgrades / appeals.

I think something that helps most people would be great.

Maybe we could get some kind of Wayfarer token, wich you can use as an Upgrade, Appeal or an ingame bonus just as you like. A wayfarer token could be something like 50-100 coins when used as an in- game reward.

Also it would be great if the wayfarer medal in platinum in PoGo would reward something cool, like an item that can permanently level up a Pokestop of your choice to level 3 or special wayfinder clothing for you Avatar or a special costume pokemon.

Something wich i would really love to see would be a reward for submitting wayspots that get accepted, like an additional medal wich shows how many Wayspots one has created, also with cool rewards added, and also rewards for accepted wayspots, like an extra Wayfarer Token for each 10-20 Wayspots accepted. Currently the only reward for successfully submiting a wayspot is the wayspot itself, wich is cool, but as this is what wayfarer is all about, also not a lot.

I do like the idea of earning wayfarer clothing in PoGo. I still regularly pull out my Ingress shirt for my avatar.

Again, don’t think anything that is game-centric will happen. If anything, the rewards would be more Wayfarer based; game rewards will most likely be saved for any future challenges, if we have them in the future.

Think less about what you’d like in the games and more of what you would like for Wayfarer, and you’ll start to see some things that have been asked for could be rewards for Wayfarer, such as additional appeals, additional nominations per day, etc.

I really could care less about getting rewards for reviewing, as I do it for fun, to help add to the map, to discover things I might be unaware of. That’s reward enough for me.

Please dont keep repeating that you don’t think something will happen, the team is welcoming any and all ideas for consideration.

I’m giving my opinion that I don’t think it’s likely. I’m welcome to give my opinion, am I not?

Good point :hugs:
Yes, only one “golden appeal” per nomination than it’s over - resubmit or let it go.

I think one more thing could really boost motivation — if a reward (for doing new reviews or, say, converting 10 upgrades) could be a “Wayfarer-sponsored” pokéstop that the reviewer can place anywhere appropriate. For example, in a safe community area (not a private home, not a school) — a spot where players can gather or just drop by, but that wouldn’t normally be “cool” enough to get accepted as a regular submission.

This would fit nicely with Niantic’s other experiments for adding wayspots and would be similar to the “Pokémon Community Ambassador” pokéstops — except those cater to large communities only, while “Wayfarer-sponsored” pokéstops could really help smaller communities and casual players.

You might want to consider offering “credits” as a form of reward. These credits could then be used in an internal store or redemption page to obtain additional nominations, upgrades, or appeals — whatever the user may need — as well as potentially game-related items.

The advantage of using this “credit” system is its flexibility: it could easily be expanded in the future to include new rewards or features as needed. For instance, during Wayfarer events, you could grant double credits and allow users to redeem them for special prizes.

I feel like there is no way to implement something like that that wouldn’t just make people spam agreements to get a couch waypoint, although I do think it would be helpful for people who live in suburban and rural areas

Hi. Some POIs that were stops disappear when moved, but your Buddy can bring you gifts from these POIs that aren’t visible, and you can add pictures from the Gift’s Menu. Is that a bug, and should they visible?

I know some people don’t think that there should be in-game rewards, but many people loved the inclusion of Pokemon GO Super Incubators for the global review challenges.

I wonder if it might be possible to get a normal egg incubator for ever x number of agreements. That would really see some demonstrable value to a lot of people who want to focus on improving the in-game experience and be rewarded when they go exploring.

Ooh, really like this idea!

Infinity submissions count for 1 day.
