get 100 Agreements, get an extra appeal
get 250 Agreements, get an in game Wayfarer hoody
get 400 Agreements, get 20 PoGO Coins
get 1600 Agreements, get a signed picture of Tintino
Just some examples, but essentially it’s something that the more reviews you do, the more agreements you rack up, the more stuff you get.
But I’m trying to get others to see it from the Wayfarer-centric view, not game-centric. You don’t need to make this worse now, since I’ve moved on, and all should, too. It’s nothing to get upset about.
I also love the avatar item for the badge @HikeLadyLDK ! I would love a Wayfarer cap for my avatar! Even though I hate the new avatars.
I love to see people thinking out of the box! I had only been thinking in terms of what could be substituted for upgrades after 100 agreements, and hadn’t thought about avatar items as something that could be awarded every so often. I am not clever like this.
I agree — if the reward is not just good but very good, it raises the concern of pokémon players cheesing wayfarer voting on a whole new level. So, since this post is focused on rewards, I just added what might look interesting
However, how to deter cheesing is an interesting topic too. Perhaps the reward could be time-gated, like requiring reviewers to vote on 150 different days within a year and maintain a good rating. Or maybe the reward should require a wayfarer bingo — correctly rejecting ineligible nominations for 20 different reasons.
In addition to more rewards, the voting process itself could be improved to make it more enjoyable and meaningful:
Let reviewers enjoy the process more (for example, filter what system gives in assigned review batches).
Notice that not everyone finds the answer (lbvs) to the question “Why should we care about Wayfarer and voting?” — and help them find it.
I think maintaining a good or great rating in your wayfarer profile is sufficient proof that your reviews are of a decent quality and you’re making a positive contribution
People may wish to pick and choose what they vote on, but that’s okay, and they are still helping to get nominations resolved.
I was thinking along these lines but would prefer more regular rewards even this means lower value rewards.
Along the lines of a free incubator for every 30 days you get an agreement, whether it takes you 30 days or 3 years.
Not so much of a fan of this one, many “Rejects” have several reasons to reject and would people “play” the system “I will fail this 1 for Poor Quality Photo, nobody can say that I don’t think that is the case”
I think GG candies in Pokémon Go would be very welcome — after all, we’re always improving our Pokémon, and GG candies seem like the best way to encourage players to consistently review Wayfarer. For example, one candy could be awarded for every X number of reviews completed.
As for the other games, since I don’t play them, I wouldn’t know how to reward those players. When someone starts reviewing, they could choose which Niantic game they play, and the rewards would be given based on that game. It could also be possible to switch between games every X number of months, so people don’t just do generic reviews to get benefits across all games at once.
This thread here started by NianticTintino is the official thread on the subject being monitored by staff for ideas, not to say the other threads are not taken into account.
Not so much a reward as a feature, but since I have a captive audience… a scrapbook where all my agreements are posted, so I can always go back and see them. I come across some cool places that I’d like to visit as I travel for work.
A special gift from Mateo every 1000 agreements that contains rare or hard to find items. Significant stardust drop, rare candy XL, masterball, etc.
Remote raid passes. Always, always, remote raid passes. For me, it’s the most incentivizing prize in the game.
EDIT: I’ve read a lot of comments saying that the rewards shouldn’t be in game, but why? Interacting with Wayfarer is a part of playing the games attached to it (for most people, PoGo). It makes sense to link the two and in-game rewards will be more meaningful to a greater number of people.
I would like a feature to use upgrades for additional appeals, similar to some of the ideas shared above. One upgrade could grant an additional appeal that can be used instantly. More generally, upgrades could have additional uses. For example, one or more upgrades could grant 40 extra nominations for users who submit frequently and run out of available nominations. Upgrades could act as a sort of currency to unlock features that currently limit us. Wayfarer in-game cosmetics would also be a nice addition.
