Cemetries no longer accepted?

Hello.

I submitted a stop from a gravestone featuring with a helmed soldier from world war I. The stop was rejected because it was considered to be in a sensitive location. Does that mean cemeteries are generally no longer acceptable?

Willkommen im Forum :hugs:
Wayspots auf Friedhöfen sollten aus Respekt grundsätzlich vermieden werden. Es gibt akzeptable Ausnahmen wie zB für historische, oder für die Community wichtige Personen.

Cemeteries by default is not eligible. You need to provide enough supporting information that its eligible

Sensitive locations such as funeral homes, burial grounds, cemeteries, and graveyards should generally be avoided out of respect, but gravestones belonging to historical figures or significant community figures can be eligible if the nominator provides evidence for their historical importance.
Crosses, churches, chapels, shrines, war or veterans memorials, religious sculptures that are not part of the grave are also eligible for consideration if they are publicly accessible.

Ich kenne den Text und war der Meinung, dass ein Denkmal fĂĽr Gefallene aus dem ersten Weltkrieg eine historische Bedeutung hat.

Der Ablehngrund, dass es sich um einen schĂĽtzenswerten Ort handelt bedeutet fĂĽr mich, dass ein Friedhof niemals als Ort genommen werden kann.

Cultural attitudes towards cemeteries vary around the world.
There are places where cemeteries/churchyards that are no longer being used for burials. Some have been turned into parkland with information boards and walking trails and people are encouraged to use for recreation. In other cultures they remain sensitive locations.
So each situation has to assessed from the starting point of being a sensitive location but that if a specific case is made then it may be eligible.

Nicht unbedingt. Du musst die Relevanz “nachweisen”, wenn es das für die Reviewer nicht macht, dann ist das die Standardauswahl für Ablehnungen auf Friedhöfen.
