I would like to ask for clarification regarding a Wayspot I nominated that has already been accepted.
The nomination refers to the park itself , not to a specific object or sign. However, the current pinned location places the Wayspot very close to another existing Wayspot. Because of this proximity, the park does not appear as a PokéStop in Pokémon GO, even though it is a valid and accepted Wayspot.
I noticed that placing the Wayspot at the main entrance of the park , where the park name is clearly indicated, would still be accurate and representative of the same real-world location, while also avoiding the proximity issue. In Pokémon GO, this adjusted placement would allow the Wayspot to appear correctly.
My question is:
Does it make sense to request a location edit to move the Wayspot to the park entrance, given that the nomination is for the park as a whole?
If the location edit is appropriate, would it then also make sense to update the photo afterward to better reflect the entrance signage?
To clarify, I did not nominate the sign itself as the Wayspot; the Wayspot is the park, and the entrance would simply be a clearer and more visible anchor point for its location.
Thank you for your time and for any guidance you can provide.
Best regards

If the current location is seen as “correct” then do not attempt to move it even to a similar “correct” location. It can be seen as Abuse and result in Warnings or Suspensions to both Wayfarer and the Games.
I believe the most appropriate location should be the park entrance, not the plaque.
At the very least, wouldn’t it always be possible to edit the photo from the plaque to the park? Also, since both the title and description refer to the park, not its plaque..
Assuming that the current location has been classed as “correct” I don’t recommend trying an edit.
The plaque is in the park so it is correct?
Therefore you would be attempting a “correct” to “correct” edit which Niantic class as Abuse.
Only use Location Edits where the current location is wrong.
Sorry, this is another that you can chalk up to “Accepted” but not a Stop / Gym as you wanted. It could be possible that you may get a Dynamax Powersot from it.
My idea was to place the marker at the park entrance, which is also what Niantic suggests in their guidelines. Do you think this would be considered abusive? In any case, how would I proceed?
Guidelines state the park should have a physical tangible anchor point… you chose the sign as this anchor point… you cant just move it from that anchor point to somewhere else because you arent pleased with the results.
