Contact support for ban?

Hello,

I just be banned 30d from wayfarer and pokemon go.
I know that i already have a warning for transgressing CGU in the past. It was many month ago and, in that time, i just wanted to put some wayspots near to a friend house because he can’t play with no waypoints around him.
This was not a good idea and i know it.
But after the warning i did not make any false proposal.
I have been banned for a waypoint proposal of a nail store in France. This nail store is actually visible on google Maps and have a special dedicated website. But it’s the nail store of an indivudual in his house. When I made the wayspot proposition I didn’t wanted to take a picture of the house of this indivudual for protect his privacy. Futhermore he have a car parked in front of this house that cannot be taken out of the picture without editing the picture (we can see the plate of the car).
So, as I was thinking that editing photos or taking photos of private houses is against the policies I just took the official image of the nailart shop on the official website.
I didn’t realise that it was against the CGUs and I’m really confused about it. I was thinking that this was the best solution for the photo but it was obvioulsy not.
I will not use any kind of pictures that is not taken by my phone from now of course.

Futhermore, I was waiting for this pokemon go week-end Kyurem event for a while now and i’m really sad to not be able to participate to the event.

Do you think that it is possible to have a real human to talk with to maybe have access to PoGo ?

Thanks and good evening all !

I think you’re unlikely yo get this overturned. You admit knowing it’s a private house, which is not allowed to be nominated, so you chose to use a third party image from the internet. The guidelines are explicitly clear about these rules - and having had a warning for fake nominations once, you needed to really familiarise yourself with the rules and not fall foul of them again.

I do feel for you missing out on the event - but you’d had your warning already so I can’t see why any leniency would be shown.

I would advise reading the wayfarer guidelines thoroughly in your 30 days. And maybe asking a friend to catch some Kyurem for you to trade.

You can appeal in the suspension email that was sent to you.

But know that pokemon go event will repeat itself somewhere in future. Personally i got 30days suspension back then during first black and white kyurem event. The event finally repeat itself. Suspension s**** but its there for a reason. If you play safe for a year, all your previous strike will return to clean slate.

I already have two 100% kyurems lol but not the energy to fuse them.

I understand the assigment but it was trully unitentionnal. This is a private house but with a shop inside but you need to take rdv to have access. I will not take a rdv just to enter the shop and take a photo myself.

So I willl just stop submitting waypoints as I’m not the only one who as been ban around me and some of my friends for some reasons that are really unclear.

Thanks for you’re respond tho.

Have a nice evening

I’m going to be brutally honest here: I don’t see anything in this post that would warrant any sort of leniency with this one.

You probably got off light with whatever sort of warning you got given what you’re describing here. At this point you should have thoroughly reviewed all of the guidelines for Wayfarer so you could avoid any further warnings or bans

This tells me that you knew private houses were ineligible, and yet you continued with the nomination anyway. Further to that, you used a 3rd party photo that is also against the guidelines.

You can appeal the suspension through the email that you got, but honestly, you should probably take this time to reflect on what you’ve done in Wayfarer so far and what it’s gotten you and really go through the guidelines and fully understand them before you decide to participate in Wayfarer again.

Suspensions always have a clear reason. Even when people come on here and say they have no idea what they did wrong, it always turns out that they clearly did something wrong.

That’s the reason why.

Hello @LeptOdira

Just so you know I moved this to a General discussion thread as this is not a bug that you are discussing.

I know it’s disappointing to miss an event. But bans are set up to help educate both submitters and reviewers. It is a reminder to know and pay attention to the rules.

In this discussion you have talked about several broken rules:

  • misplacing or false wayspots - your first suspension
  • Wayspots not being allowed on Single Family Private Residential Property - even if they do have a business there.
  • No third part photos - you cannot take photos from the internet

As others have said, I think it’s very unlikely for this to get overturned. But I do advise that you fill out the form associated with your ban. This is the best way to have employees see and address any issues.

Also take note that as you submit your nominations it does tell you not to use third party photos.

We can talk best practices for submitting if you’d like feedback here or in a Nominations thread if you are interested.

It’s a private house. You knew it was ineligible and continued anyway. The business aspect having it’s own entrance is irrelevant.

Thanks for the response. I was in the wrong for the 2nd point for this ban ofc. But i was thinking that that shop wich need a rdv to enter was treated like an amusement park wich is eligible even if the entry is restricted by a ticket.

I learned my mistake and I understand the punishment even if I think this is really hard for what it is.

But it’s really frustrating to not be able to participate to an event wich I was really waiting for for these kind of mistake.

Have a nice evening tho.

Hello and welcome,

We always recommend appealing if you wish to query the suspension.

it is up to you what you decide to do following the suspension. Life is full of mistakes ( I’m older so have made many :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:) the most important thing is that we learn from those mistakes. So it’s a hard lesson to have to take time away from the game. But it will pass.

It may be that you don’t wish to do wayfarer again, and that is understandable.

If you decide you do want to submit again at some point in the future we will be happy to support you if you want to check if something you are considering is ok or not. It is always a good idea to ask.

Good luck

Bans exist to stop behaviour that breaks the rules and, in some cases, to deter others. Education happens at the warning stage — once a ban is issued, it’s enforcement rather than educating.

People can still continue to be educated.

Warning: Well, they won’t ban me, I spent almost £10 on the game last year.
Ban: Whoops, I was wrong.

Others Educating: So, you now have options. A: Stop altogether. B: Wait till the ban is lifted, continue doing the same, get banned for longer. C: Learn from mistakes, Go by the rules once ban is lifted.

Maybe, we should stop using the term “Ban” and use what it is, “Suspension”.

I do like the clarification of using suspension vs ban. I do try and be careful with my words but had been using the two interchangeably.
