Thought this would’ve been an easy accept as it’s wooden mushrooms but its been rejected by the community and the appeal team.
No offense, I struggle with this, too. At first it just looked like stumps. We have that here, too, but usually it’s more detailed carvings of bears or birds. The mushroom seems pretty basic and not “artistic,” so to speak. (Not trying to be critical, just considering why it was rejected)
Is there any additional context that could help? Mushrooms because it’s at a compost site, garden supply, etc? Or remnants of a somewhat important tree? A nearby town lost most of its trees to a bad tornado and a bunch of them were made into wood carvings to commemorate the event.
Are they intended as seats?
My first thought is they’re maybe supposed to be little mushroomish stools for kids? I’d probably submit them in that way unless I knew differently
I recently added a mushroom related carving too, but had better luck
There isn’t any information on these mushrooms but it was at a sight of a massive regeneration housing scheme where they knocked down five tower blocks and replaced it with 142 homes of every type. I had a chat with a local because im not from around there and he doesn’t know what they’re but he said there was a pretty big tree there that looked like it was rotting. My guess is they wanted to do some artwork for the green space because it was pretty bland before.
I would accept these given the area they are in.
They are obviously not just old stumps without any artistic merit or use.
Yeah I think the appeal had the wrong decision
On streetview you can probably guess that they look like mushrooms, they arent the best looking ones but you can still identify what they are. Theres a bench right next to the mushrooms aswell
I would try to submit them as “Mushroom Stools” or something like that. “Seating area for children carved from an old tree removed during the regeneration scheme in xxxx.”. Maybe?
And try to take the picture fron a slightly lower angle so as to see more of the outline of the shape?
Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely could’ve put more effort into this. Thats just me being lazy and thinking this was a easy nomination to get accepted.
Add this to your support. They can use it instead of actually reading the link you provided.
I hate when youre super confident with a nomination and then its rejected.
I had a brand new public diving pool rejected last week, really didnt think that would be something I struggled to get accepted
And like you say, wood carvings are often quite easy nominations
I also waited 2 months to appeal it as i already had a pretty big appeal backlog, so thats annoying.
Sometimes you have to convince reviewers that they are amazing, intelligent people who are accepting Wayspots equalled only by their own astounding knowledge of what is worthy of being included on a map that is beneficial and enlightening to the whole of humanity…
… And not just some old logs the council didn’t know what to do with that will be added as a datapoint on the map of a multi million pound private company.
They look great! Nice use of old logs
They look like a nice waypoint to me. And would make a great mushroom in Pikmin Bloom. (Not that we can use game specific language. Maybe in supporting info or appeal if needed.) But a unique looking seating/rest area near to an area for walking is a great waypoint in its own right.
Oh those are neat! My kids would enjoy them, but I likely would too. Who says they are toadstool seating just for kids
Now…the log jump. I am not super confident about that, but I would see how far I could get without hurting myself
I do agree with other that you need to write up creative title and description. I would be happy to give it good review.
Title - Not mushroom to sit
Thats almost bad enough to be a “Dad” joke
edit it should be Not much room to sit
Useless at jokes I am
I laughed
Pikmin abuse!!
