This is the only square within a radius of several kilometers, which is why it is the only meeting place for locals.
the square can be seen from space I don’t understand why they don’t accept it. It’s a square in a small village in Italy. I don’t understand why they don’t accept it, maybe because it’s not on google maps?
Firstly, welcome to the Community. I hope this will be one of many posts that you make on here.
Regarding your nomination, I would focus on the monument that is in the distance and provide a write up for it. As it stands right now, there is no focal point of interest that would make me vote positively when there is something that I can see that would probably be more eligible. Would it be possible to know the town and location so that we can look around and see what your local area can provide in terms of nominations?
In this context it’s not a “they”, it’s an automated rejection by the automated machine learning model. I can see why it wouldn’t recognize a focal point on your photo, that’s the challenge with signless parks, squares etc, which can be good nominations but suffer from a lack of specific point to tie them to.
In any case we would need to see the whole nomination to try and help with a resub.
This slide, albeit not quite attractive, if it still exists, may qualify, providing it’s not on private property. I haven’t checked on Ingress Intel site to see if this exists or not.
There are a few restaurants and also a pub not far away from the location you posted that, if not already considered, accepted, etc, may qualify.
“Wayfarer criteria” rejection indicates this was a decision by the ML (machine learning ai) model. The email will reference “our team” instead of the community. ML has a lot of trouble detecting something with a lot of hardscape as eligible. I agree with the previous comment that a photo with a clear focal point like that lovely fountain will be a much easier nomination to get accepted.
I take my photos before I make my nominations, then straighten or crop before making the nomination, and choose the existing photo option when I do. Especially with these tall phones, that will cut out a lot of the unnecessary background. Something like this:
If you cannot go back to take a new photo, you do have 2 appeals you can use, each on a 20 day timer before you get to use it again. If you appeal, a human will review the nomination. But it is not a guaranteed acceptance, and I usually will resubmit an eligible nomination at least a couple of times before I appeal it myself.
Thanks, I hope to publish several. As for the nearby poi I have already made it a pokestop in fact I am trying to create three to have at least one gym in this village. It is a Sicilian village attached to the sea lost in the middle of nowhere so I am trying to add as many things as possible
@P1dg3ySlayer for the station I already plan to try to create new pokestops. For the rest, even if it seems close, that is another village called Saponara and it is no longer rometta. They are divided by a stream and you can only cross it from the sea or from the bridge. I have started to create pokestops now in the meantime I would like to create a gym in this area where there is the main square ("piazza le ville ") and then slowly start to fill the cells, where possible obviously. anyway, I appealed, I hope they understand
