When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
-
Wayspot Title:忘言咖啡

City: Kaohsiung

Country:Taiwan

Additional Information (if any):
Hi Wayfarer, in the appeal, your response mentioned a duplicate Wayspot, but that is not the actual situation. The real issue is a duplicate Power Spot.
So, there is a big problem here:” Was it your oversight that caused the review error, or is it that the submitted candidates cannot overlap with a Power Spot?”
The following are attached images as proof.
In the images below, the areas circled in red indicate the Power Spot in Pokémon GO, and this Power Spot is “忘言咖啡”.
The images below are screenshots from the Wayfarer app. The areas circled in red show that there is no Wayspot for “忘言咖啡”.
The above is my complete appeal. I hope you can review it carefully and value each submission.
Finally, I would like to ask again. Was it your oversight that caused the review error, or is it that the submitted candidates cannot overlap with a Power Spot?
If a submitted candidate is rejected due to overlapping with a Power Spot, then there would be a bigger issue, which is the unclear standards on your part.
Lastly, as a note, I have carefully reviewed the article in the link below. Clarifications on Pokémon Go Power Spots [Discussion]
I hope to receive your response and that my efforts will not be in vain. Sincerely, a player from Taiwan.
Ty for posting this, and I am following! I have been wondering if Powerspots will be considered duplicates for Wayfarer.
I noticed that the rejection reason says “connected to” instead of “duplicate” so I wanted to ask what this nearby portal is a sign for: 芳崗:開放空間標示牌

Hi, this [芳崗:開放空間標示牌] is also my application, and this sign indicates the open space near the building, which is an area accessible for everyone to walk through. The building (芳崗)is a A multi-unit residential building.
Thank you for reminding me that it’s “connected to” and not “duplicate,” but I’m still confused—why is “connected to” not allowed?
ty for explaining this for me. we will have to wait and see what Niantic staff say.
imo the sign should not disqualify the coffee shop.

Thank you for your response. I also hope that Niantic staff can successfully make the café “忘言咖啡” inside this building a Wayspot.
Hi @cyndiepooh , I know why I write “duplicate”
Because of this:
Hey, “connected to” would mean that any object nominated to represent the café would fall under being a duplicate. This is a bad example because I agree, this shouldn’t have even been considered a duplicate from the information you provided, as Lightship database is the place it should be compared to, not the external ones that don’t appear there (and currently form a lot of the Powerspots).
A good example where “connected to” would correctly apply is, that a playground with many playing devices in one place, should not have every device as a separate Wayspot. Despite not being the literal same object, they would then fall under a duplicate “connected to” the playground itself.
As always, there can be special cases to rules, but this would be the standard at first glance.

Thank you for explaining what “connected to” means, but I still don’t understand why this would prevent the wayspot from being approved.
First time here. How long does @NianticLC reply my article?
I can’t tell you that. This is an appeal of an appeal decision, and there isn’t even a formal pathway for that. The team may choose not to reply to this one, but I hope they do.

Thank you for telling me about this. @cyndiepooh
Day 2 of waiting for @NianticLC acknowledgment of their mistake and a reasonable explanation. ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12)
As previously noted, there is no formal timeframe for when staff reply to appeals of appeals; actually, I don’t think there’s a formal timeframe for staff to get to any removal request appeals or valid Wayspot restoration appeals. Most of mine have taken anywhere from a few days to just a little over a week.
Also, this is a discussion that has been on-going with Power Spots that we have asked for clarification on, and being we haven’t gotten an answer yet, who knows if we will.

Hello @Egg0608Wayspot
Please don’t repeatedly tag as it will not speed up your appeal.
Your appeal will be dealt with in due course which could be quick or take awhile.

@NianticThibs @NianticAaron @NianticTintino Any help with this? We are still waiting for clarification in the Power Spots discussion as well.

After experiencing indifference and dismissive attitudes from the staff, I decided to appeal once more for the same cafeteria candidate proposal that had already been rejected through manual review. I also included a link to this post. Ultimately, the appeal was successful.
However, many proposals were still denied after appeals due to erroneous reasons provided by the official reviewers.
Coupled with the deteriorating atmosphere in the Taiwanese reviewer community—where objections are often made simply for the sake of opposing—and the practice of falsely reporting existing Wayspots in the real world as nonexistent to compete to take over the gym quota in a L14 cell (which even gets approved by Niantic team
), the failed review system and the indifference of official staff have led me to lose all faith in Wayfarer.
