Hi everyone,
Today I intended to walk around and add PokeStops where I thought I met the requirements because there are very few here, but I ran into a problem more than once. What am I supposed to do where a wayspot already exists? Because I see it’s used in other Niantic games but not in Pokemon Go, and I didn’t want to create another wayspot on top of it. So I wanted to know if it’s okay to place one in the same location or if there’s a way to edit or add more photos/data to transform it into a PokeStop.
I’m posting this question because the information I found doesn’t fully answer my questions. Thanks

Hello @PulgaM01
Unfortunately there is not much you can do in this case. If a wayspot is accepted it goes in to an overall mapping database. Then each game uses their own unique inclusion rules to see if they want to use that wayspot. So the one you are talking about may be in other games, but might be in none of the games.
If you were to nominate it again it would be considered a duplicate.
There are some articles that talk about the Pokemon Go inclusion rules. I’ll drop that in here so you can read up on it. Unless someone beats me to it.

There are no distance restrictions for Wayspots, so if there is something else that is eligible at the same location, you could nominate it. However, it would be unlikely to be used in PoGO, as the already-existing Wayspot would likely show up if the location were eligible.
As PoGO uses the cell system mentioned above, we can’t say how far away a new nomination would need to be for it to appear in-game, as the existing stop/gym blocking it could be anywhere in the cell. If you are comfortable sharing the location (but it’s understandable if not, as this is a public forum) someone might be able to check the area or make suggestions that should appear.

Also, keep in mind that maybe, some of those “Used in other Niantic Games” you are seeing, might not be “real” waypoints, but instead imports for PowerSpots.
