I am trying to get a PokeStop made for the place I work at. I can see that my work location/building has been used as Wayspots for other Niantic games, but how do I get it approved in Pokemon Go?
Do I need to submit it in Pokemon Go, or would that get it flagged as a duplicate? I tried to submit it once and it got rejected for the photo and I got a warning on my account. I don’t want that to happen again.
If it already exists in the database and you nominate it, it would be correctly marked as a duplicate.
The only exception would be if it’s an imported Power Spot which usually have a grey default photo and no description
The warning sounds unusual.Did you use a photo from.the.internet or similar?
I used a photo that I took, which is also used on the Website for the office. So I assume that’s what the warning is from.
So is there no way to get it to be a PokeStop since it already exists in the database?
Unfortunately there is no way for Reviewers or Niantic to prove you are the photographer so they have to err on the side of caution.
In these cases most people suggest taken more than 1 image and use 1 just for wayfarer…
This sounds like there is already a wayspot in the database but it shares a cell with another waypoint which is a stop / gym (1 stop per S2 L17 cell).

We no longer have an up to date map but if you are happy to post the GPS Co Ords we can take a look…
Correct. You’re submitting to a Wayfarer database, not to Pokémon GO directly.
