so i got this. I rejected as cannot prove exists. Besides location pin was in middle of road. Can someone have a look and let me know what they think. There are several indicators that raise flags. But I could be wrong (I am sure I am not). So without saying what I saw please let me know what you think…

Yeah, that is very fake. The trees are completely different, the slope on the road is wrong, and the building in the background is missing.
@NianticAaron @NianticAtlas (Sorry, I hate tagging ya’ll on here but…) Can someone have a look at this? This appears to be a fairly blatant attempt at a fake Wayspot.

Did you notice the car is also in the Google Street View. They worked it
So many flags

Yup lol, I don’t want to give away how this was done but I’m sure we can all figure it out if we thought about it

It sure is amazing how the windows have just straight up vanished with absolutely no traces of them ever having existed

If we look closely, we can see that the shape and color tone of the mural differ slightly between the main photo and the supporting photo. It is likely that AI was used.
They clearly got painted over, that mural artist was a magician!

Yes. I was trying not to say that… but thanks.

I appreciate that you don’t want to tell people how to make a fake. But I think we are at the point where honest reviewers need to know what to look for.
The missing windows compared to street view were huge red flags.
The fact the mural is different is a bit of a giveaway.
The brain is very good at spotting patterns without necessarily working out the details which is why something looks off and you look again.
I do think that some are very difficult to spot and my eyes are definitely a lot older and less cooperative than they used to be. So looking at these is hard work. And I also dislike that I end up being suspicious of everything - that is not a joy.

That did not even register with me. I just saw a bright pattern. ty for pointing that out, too!
I read that squinting at the screen whilst cleaning my glasses…

And me, didn’t notice until you mentioned it…
I’ve seen a similar issue with a mural, in that it’s slightly different in both pictures. The fact that the car is straight outta StreetView is interesting, there was this thread - Observing Potential AI-Generated Photo Artifacts in Nominations - where the image had been taken from StreetView and then run through some sort of filter to disguise it.
In these cases I’d also recommend scouting around the vicinity for any other fake wayspots and reporting them. The only way to do that at the moment is when you are reviewing the wayspot and can see neighbouring ones.

I see that the Wayspot submission was correctly flagged as abusive. We have taken appropriate actions in accordance with our policies. Thanks,

Hopefully Aaron will take another look and take action, otherwise it should be reported…

@shritwod well done for checking
@NianticAaron The appropriate action for a 100% fake AI wayspot submission is to let it be accepted into the wayfarer database. Is this something you could revisit, because it might send the wrong message.
(How many reviewers don’t bother to check streetview? Did Niantic accidentally add it regardless of the reviews instead of applying sanctions?)

I have removed the Wayspot. Thanks for following-up.
