- Wayspot Title: Stone bridge
- Location (lat/lon): 57.69777, 12.20090
- City: Landvetter
- Country: Sweden
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): I did not make the gym
- Additional Information (if any): This gym was falsely removed for “not existing” after the original wayspot was moved 3 meters to the right for unknown reasons. This gym was a common spot for local community meetups where we would all do raids on fridays and we are all really disappointed with the gyms removal. If needed, the wayspot was a sign explaining the stone bridge next to the sign.

I can see an information sign on streetview that looks eligible. Is this what the Stone bridge wayspot was for? There is nothing showing on the wayfarer map here.
Welcome to the forum.
How do you know why the gym was removed? We do not get notice about removals unless the team has detected abuse and sends you a separate email. Did you get a warning or punishment over this?
Yes, that’s the sign. Just to the right of it is the stone bridge
I was told by my friend and it’s the only logical reason for the removal.
Okay then. When Niantic removes a Wayspot, they will have had a reason for that. Either they have had evidence that the Wayspot does not exist or exists but is ineligible, or will have had a property owner request to remove it. They honor property owner requests, so there is nothing you can do if that is the situation. For the other possibilities, you should present evidence that the point of interest exists there currently, and that it is not ineligible, for example for being on single family private residential property or on the grounds of a school for children under 18.
I should note that I am not staff, just trying to help you present your appeal. Staff who can make a decision on this will be clearly identified with a name that begins with “Niantic” here.
Your friend will not be able to tell you that the wayspot was removed for not existing unless they have information about who submitted the removal request. Niantic will not have told them this.
Streetview is from May 2025 and shows an information sign that looks in very good condition and it is hard to imagine it is no longer there.
If it was a gym, the gym has moved to a wayspot even further away from buildings, so it doesn’t make sense if someone was trying to remove a legitimate wayspot in order to abusively move the gym to somewhere better than them. It’s possible, but it’s hard to image the abuse was used to get this wayspot removed.
That leaves a request from a property owner as the most likely option. Hopefully Niantic will comment.
Thing is that it was public property with no homes next to it, Also after asking my friend again he said that he knew the person who submitted the report. The person supposedly reported it as “a joke” and did not expect it to actually get removed.
Public property still has an owner, which might be the local council or government. Niantic have confirmed a geoblock from the property owner for at least one public space - the strong belief is that the crowds caused by Pogo players was causing problems.
If that is what happened, that is a bad joke, and is abuse.
Hey @128934675690,
The removal appears to be correct based on the available evidence.
No, the object has been removed. What you see on the right is a different object that always existed.
No, that’s a different sign. You can see the original one in 2020 SV.
You can see what the wayspot actually was. Makes it much easier ![]()
It appears that the object that the wayspot represented no longer exists. The sign that is there now looks like an eligible submission, but if a new gym gets added (there appears to be a missing gym here), it will be selected at random from the available pokestops.
I can just see that sign on the 2020 streetview if I squint ![]()
Bah. I would have seen that if google hadn’t quietly kicked me out of intel. I always check there when wayspots are removed, as it makes it easier to discuss things if I can see what they are, but it didn’t appear - because I wasn’t logged in ![]()
Damn. If it wasn’t for that, I could have given the op the right answer at the beginning.
Fair enough, I have restored the Wayspot.
Is there any way this could be a guaranteed gym, as i mentioned in my original post the main reason me and the local community were sad about the removal is because of our tradition of raiding on fridays there and it’s the most optimal spot for everyone. I also found the new gym and it’s in the middle of the forest where all you have is a small dusty bench.
