Otherwise, they have to go into the village/town of Baba. There are some wayspots there.

A place where people happen to talk to each other while shopping is not a great place to socialize. People can talk to each other while doing all kinds of things. The location needs to be designed for socializing.

Ok so if there is nowhere nearby where you meet others, or is designed for exercise or that others would travel to then you are not going to have anything suitable that could be a wayspot/pokestop.
I appreciate that is disappointing news.
The place with trees had spawns but no pokestop?
How far can you travel? Do you ever go into town?

It depends on what kind of place it is. A private house or school serving people under 18? No, not eligible.
