I’m a PoGo only player, and most of my area doesn’t have much to nominate for new Wayspots, so edits have been my main focus for some time now. I’m going out to every Wayspot and submitting my edits there.
Niantic has already noted some abuse happening with this challenge in another thread, but not what type of abuse. They are monitoring, and I don’t think it matters what game you’re using, as long as you’re doing so per game limits.
Right. Am now searching my hood for all those SSM (survey marks (those finger in mouth nominations)) the little two inch disks nailed to the floor on road kerbs and gutters that Niantic says no to for multiple reasons (rightly so).
Oh hold on I already reported all those for being in dangerous positions. Dang it…
Yep, we have to walk around in the dark to do this challenge, its wonderful. Didn’t get to do that many this weekend, only a handful, so will have to see if I can do any this week
I had been wanting to improve photos, but can’t do that in the dark really, so have to stick with text edits, which makes it even harder
Also those who play both games have more leeway with their nomination limits
You’re looking at it from an Explorer’s viewpoint.
Niantic’s viewpoint is that they need millions of data points for Machine Learning, to test their AI. The best way to get that is to have a contest and get free “wild caught” test data from all over the world. What app created the data is not pertinent to them.

I hope all PokeMonGO trainers can get at least 10 submitted, and that they’ll get loads of community prizes because Ingress agents are knocking themselves out.
Ingress agents are shooting for the +1 on the OPR Live badge. 99% of agents who have played 10 years don’t even have 3 on it yet. (Its highest level is for 20.)
And I hope Niantic’s AI turns out really great on edits, so that going forward submissions will be resolved quickly and correctly.
Wow, got a good amount of edits done today, even after it got dark! One that was ML approved was a new photo for a music store; the existing photo is actually an old part of the signage for the Singer sewing machine store. Hopefully my photo report of the inaccurate Singer photo will be removed, and the title will also get updated to the correct name.
Although this app will be deprecated off my Galaxy S23 later today --Nov 4 … i notice all my edits i submitted via the Wayfarer app do not show up in my “Contributions Management” folder here. Only edits submitted via Ingress app show up. Looking forward to Android Scaniverse4 replacement next week.
Why did you use the app? The announcement post even says

The Wayfarer app isn’t meant to be used by non-developers, and isn’t linked to your regular Wayfarer account in any way which is why the edits don’t show.
So the Wayfarer App is where all the cool kids go to hide their submissions? Cool.

I do agree with this. So they are capping us,so the global reward will be insane hard to reach if we can only do 150 in total. So we need avg 1000 people to submit 150. Is there even so many people knowing about the challenge ?

NianticTintino shared that we already hit Community Tier 2, 3 days ago.
So I think we will easily hit Tier 3 with lots of days left.
I think I’m on 35ish but @PkmnTrainerJ has said they will make up the extra 115 for me.

i had not planned to go outside of Ingress app but when i saw the Ingress edits status were showing up in this windows based “Wayfarer link” i thought it might be easier to submit via the “Wayfarer App”. my bad for “assuming.”
My understanding was that it was already replaced on iOS with the new Scaniverse stuff.
