Wayfarer Pikmins would be awesome as rewards!
I donāt use any plug-ins for reviewing.
On desktop Chrome I just right-click off to the side, and select translate. Then every nomination comes up in English.
It works in other browsers too.
Which counter? The banner on the Showcase page or your Upgrade counter?

Are you opted in to the Challenge under Settings?
Thatās true. Donāt think they will make anything exclusive for a small subset of Pikmin people that are also eligible for Wayfarer though.
Do you know if you have reviewed any within the challenge countries yet? It sometimes takes a while for your queue to load up the reviews from those countries?
Is there a way to only do edits? Kind of annoying seeing full reviews from Japan in there as well.
It sounds as though it just might be slow catching up
Yes between 50 to 100
No. the decision was was to do both edits and nominations
I mean, they have been making special decor pikmins for local event only( like the event in Germany recently), so I donāt see why not. It may encourage people to play more and become wayfarers. They already sync the friends list between PoGo and Pikmin Bloom, so its only fair they bring PB players here too
But wouldnāt it be generic?! My son asked me the other day to nominate a sushi restaurant he likes and I told him there are so many sushi restaurants. So each restaurant is a place to socialize. As long as it isnāt a big chain that makes it good?! Except it wouldnāt be considered unique or different from others. Then what do we classify as generic? Only franchise restaurants and chains? That is similar to nominating every little coffee shop that isnāt a starbuks or other chain.
Honestly, if there are no other wayspots around and itās not a huge chain, I figure itās likely a a good bet, in that the fewer restaurants available, the more important each existing one is to the community. Conversely, if there are 15 wayspots showing on the map and it doesnāt have major wow factor, Iām less likely to figure itās of much interest. Maybe my rule of thumb is not rules as written but seems to fit the needs of the game and the players.
I think the part I find difficult is relying on the individual writing to assume accuracy. So many bulletin boards, but I cannot decipher what it actually says in the photo. Same with a few park signs, although they look like parking lots
Will be interesting to see how this later affects my status.
Yes, I just got done with maybe 70ish reviews, almost all for Japanese nominations and edits. Not knowing the languageāand especially not being able to easily translate anything on signs, etc.āhas made the problem you described even more problematic. But after feeling pretty frustrated for the first dozen or so, I hit my stride. Iāve skipped a couple that I just couldnāt make head nor tail of, and Iāve learned a smidge about a fascinating culture (so MANY shrines!). Moreover, I think this exercise will inform and improve my process of reviewing local and other English-language nominations. (Also, it sort of forced me to switch to the computer; translating on the phone was taking too long, lol. Less scrolling = good. And I think I can read more when I blow photos up to try to see details.)
I am a bit curious as to whether the challenge reviews will affect my rating, since that is entirely based on agreements. So peer pressure is in play, I guess, but Iām not too worried.
As far as I know for iPhone users, this is what I do to deal with languages I am not fluent with:
- Highlight the text from the end of the description to the beginning of the title
- Swipe the pop up options bar left once
- Tap on Translate
This will show a temporary translated view on the lower half of your phone. Trying to highlight everything starting at the title causes the link overlay on the title to appear.
If thereās text visible at all in the provided pictures or in the map or street view, Iāll also utilize that to match the kanji for Japanese nominations for example.
It is very common to have a translator mistranslate a similar character. Plus I often need to read what is in the photo in order to know which is the correct text, and a translator wonāt do that. I review on desktop, and I search the photo with google to use the translate option there when needed, and I am still concerned that I may be missing some context.
You could have offered the advice that might be helpful to someone else without being nasty about it.
