Hello, one of the gyms that is in my area disappeared from game, but I can still see it on campfire map. I have a pokemon in this gym and when I click on it, it says “Gym is currently closed”. It is a POI with public access 24/7. There are also others pokestops next to it and they all are still visible in game. Only this one. It also happened the same to this gym in past.

There does seem to be delays between “in-game”, the new map and campfire.
It seems to slightly higher than you stated and shared a cell with “Mural Wzgórze Raciążek” so the likely hood is that Niantic have “recalculated” the area or someone corrected the location and this triggered the “recalculation”
Due to the amount of waypoints I would expect 1 of the other stops to become a Gym…
Yea I was expecting that, but it’s been a week already and no new gym appeared. Last time it was retrieved to game when it happened after my post.
There does not seem to be an hard and fast rule when wayspots are moved in to an already occupied cell.
- The consensus is that it should automatically trigger a re-calculation.
- I know 2 instances locally that it hasn’t (1 that I did the edit myself in the last 12 months).
- Sometimes the recalculations seems to happen at some random time in the future.
IMO: The Gym disappearing is correct, the delay in creating a new Gym I am not so sure.
Just a thought: The new map does not show “Sponsored” Gyms. Is it possible there is 1 of these in the area?
No, it’s not sponsored. I submitted this POI myself
What I meant was that if there was a sponsored Gym this could block a new 3rd Gym appearing in the cell.
Not sure what you know about S2 Cells but…
The most Gyms that should be in a S2 L14 cell is 3.
- If a Sponsored Gym appears in a cell that already has 3 Gyms it will become a 4th Gym.
- If a Sponsored Gym appears in a cell that has less the 3 Gyms the sponsored Gyms counts towards the maximum 3.
In your case, if you had 3 Gyms + a Sponsored Gym and yours has now been removed the recalculation still classes it as the max 3 Gyms (2 + 1 Sponsored).
This could be the reason you are not getting a replacement for the Gym that has been removed…
