Gym was accepted to be moved by wayfarer but didn’t move

I requested a gym be moved to the proper location and it was approved but didn’t move it’s been quite a while now. I was wondering what can be done or is it just stuck in limbo? The change reflects on wayfarer but doesn’t show it was moved in the game.

Hello and welcome,

It actually appears that there are 2 Wayspots showing up on the nomination map for this library, and the old location, circled in white below, hasn’t been removed yet. I compared this map to the L17 S2 cell here, and the old and new location are both in the same cell, so the Wayspot shouldn’t have disappeared from PoGo. There was an issue with sync starting at the end of August, but that has been resolved, so this may be leftover from this issue.

Hopefully a mod will move this to Bug Reports & Technical Support, as this is not a Wayspot Appeals issue.

Hi @ASONOFYAH
Welcome to the forum :hugs:
I’ve moved your topic over to Bug Reports & Technical Support
Thanks @DTrain2002

Thank you

The stop you suggested is a totally different stop that needs to stay.

The stop that was accepted to move but wasn’t moved is this

Thanks for adding more context, that’ll help your report.
Staff isn’t always working on weekends so a response could take a few days.
Good luck :four_leaf_clover:

Thank you kindly. Have a lovely weekend

There can only be 1 Wayspot per L17 S2 cell. It appears that the loving friends memorial is in the same L17 S2 cell as the library Wayspot, and it’s possible that after the location edit was accepted, the friends memorial became the Wayspot for this cell after syncing the new coordinates.

Gyms are determined based off of the larger L14 S2 cells, so I’m thinking another Wayspot in the L14 cell randomly became a gym.

More info on S2 cells and how they determine game play locations in PoGo can be found here:

What does this have to do with it not being moved when it supposed to be moved. The gym is still the gym because it hasn’t moved yet. I could care less what becomes the gym next. I just wanted the library to reflect the acceptance from wayfarer in the game. Whether it removes the stop or not is another issue. I’m aware of the cell system and how it operates. My concern is accuracy rather than quantity of stops as well as the issue of it being accepted to move and it hasn’t moved. But I guess if you guys wanna keep it like that then that’s cool too. Just reporting an issue

The nomination map shoes it was moved to the correct location, but due to there being more than 1 Wayspot in this L17 S2 cell, it didn’t come back as a game play location. The friends memorial is now the game play location for this cell, so the library Wayspot can’t be a stop/gyms anymore. It could be used as a Power Spot in the future.

The library Wayspot is listed at the correct coordinates on the nomination map, at the main entrance. You can click on the stops and exclamation points on the nomination map to see what Wayspots these are, and the one at the coordinates you provided are for the library. When you click on one of these on the nomination map, you should get something like this (this is for a Power Spot, but the info will be similar and include a photo):

Yeah that’s the problem it says on the map, the map within the game itself, it has moved but when you go into the game and try to play it is very much still in the same spot. I want it either removed completely or moved to the correct location, or even converted into a power stop. Whatever the norm is in this situation is all I’m asking.

Here more photos maybe this will help. It says it moved but it has not

The photo above shows a gym at the side of the road instead of where it was moved directly over to the main door.
So to be sure I am articulating myself properly;

Whatever repercussion come from it is fair and accurate the stop should have never been accepted on the side of the road away from the library. Usually you put the marker right where it is, this must have slipped through the crack.

This is a better explanation of the issue, as it seems like it was removed from the game because of the friends memorial Wayspot when you originally posted.

It also seems as though this L17 S2 cell has 2 Wayspots instead of the 1 that is allowed, so there is something off with it. For reference, this is how the cell looks like, and based on the nomination map, both the friends memorial and the library are in this cell, and the library is still in the old location in Ingress, as this cell is taken from the Intel map with an S2 cell overlay. Ingress no longer syncs with Wayfarer, so it’s info isn’t quite accurate.

The pin on the map is the coordinates that you got approved for the library location edit, which can be seen there on the nomination map. The friends memorial most likely doesn’t show as it’s too close to the old location, less than 20m, but it now shows up around the old location for the library in PoGo for some odd reason.

I can see the stop for the friends memorial next to the gym for the library, so yes, there is something off with this cell.

I have nudged this Wayspot. It should sync soon.

The stop went where it was intended and stayed a gym. Thank you for the help. Have a lovely day.

Quick question however. It is moved, but there is two stops in one cell. How is this possible? I thought only one stop was allowed per whatever level cell. But you moved it and allowed two stops in one cell. Just trying to understand how things work. Curiosity is all.

Yes, one Wayspot is allowed per L17 S2 cell. It’s possible that the game hasn’t fully synced yet, as it can take up to 48 hours, and Mondays sometimes do not have syncs.

If there are still 2 Wayspots in this cell tomorrow, I would report then, as it should be synced correctly by tomorrow, since staff took action on Sept 22nd.

Now that I think of it. This can’t be the case because a spot was removed today in the vicinity of this area and this spot wasn’t removed. Could you possibly explain this?

I have seen other reports of L17 S2 cell weirdness when a gym is edited. I just accept it and don’t bother with understanding it. Maybe this is more Aaron magic.

So Aaron can decide if a cell can have two spots or not but a cell down the street he edited as well was removed because one cell cannot contain two spots? I assume who ever did the gym did the cell down the street as well. Why the bias?

I would expect one of the two in the same L17 cell to disappear. I can’t begin to understand the behind the scenes stuff that happens. I was trying to be funny with the allusion to Aaron doing magic and obviously failed. Good luck in your quest for an explanation.
