I tried to nominate this as a pokemon stop yesterday at a dentist office and it got rejected hella fast. I thought fish tanks were acceptable.

What criteria would you say this meets? Seems like a decoration for the waiting room to me.

It’s a fish tank inside the dentist office. It has lots of public access from outside the building where people can drive, walk or bike past to spin the stop.
Oh! I didn’t notice that me in the photo but I have another one that I’m not in it.

criteria is

  • A great place for exploration
  • A great place for exercise
  • A great place to be social with others

which of those do you think it meets? would you go to explore the dentist’s office because of the fish tank? is the fish tank educational? does the fish tank promote you being social with friends?

Yeah, it sounds like you aren’t aware that all wayspots (known in PGO as PokeStops) need to meet one of three criteria. This forum is to help people learn about those.

This is a great place to start to understand what the criteria are. But it breaks down to these three categories - a great place to:

  • Socialize
  • Exercise
  • Explore

So which of those things does a fish tank accomplish?

At the end of the nomination, I put this

This fish tank located in Edmonds inside a dentist office. David Hopewell is the name of the building. It’s surrounded by beauty and nature. It’s a great way to explore and exercise while mingling with other trainers. There’s not many poke stops in that area and would be fantastic if there were more. It’s close by a QFC and a Daycare.

not having pokestops does not help your statement, and may actually hurt it. you should not mention why a WAYSPOT would be good for a specific game.

what this point of interest is close to is also not relevant.

i do not see how this fish tank meets any of the criteria. i do not want to tell you that it is “ineligible” because i don’t know of any rule saying that fish tanks are not eligible. i want to try to get you to see how something you nominate must meet at least one of the three main criteria.

The location of the building being in nature does not make the fish tank eligible or a good place to explore. The fish tank is not meant for exercising.
